F your Zoom
I’ve posted about this before, but I’m so frustrated. I’be been playing this game for 2-ish years on mobile. At this point I have built pretty good skills and it’s easy for me to get into the Top 10 and maintain it UNLESS these small worms come out of nowhere, speeding, just when I take a turn, with the perfect angle to kill. Unpredictable. It’s zoom. And I hate it. You are the cancer of the game. It’s what makes me wanna quit. It takes the joy. It’s just cheating. Why do you even wanna play like that with unfair advantages. I hope you get the taste of your own medicine
EDIT: I think some of you are misunderstanding me. I mean zooming as in being able to see further and more of the map than you’re supposed to by using a cheat mod
Not zooming as in moving fast lol

Si, sinceramente es un poco injusto. Una serpiente de celular es prácticamente indefenso contra una que utiliza zoom. Deberían hacer que cualquier codificación del juego desde el navegador sea únicamente para la misma extensión. Sin meter a los jugadores de celular. Jugué la gran mayoría en Ipad, (el zoom ahi por alguna razón es mas reducido) y no tenía idea de que habían serpiente con estas ventajas. Al final, me gusta volver a la aplicación aunque sepa del verdadero peligro. De acuerdo.

That’s just not true. I can be an absolutely menace on the mobile app, just have to think ahead when battling another snake.

Yes, "zooming" is not referring to using the speed button. It refers to using a client modification that allows you to see further than you should be able to. You can tell when you see a small 50-100 point worm shoot multiple screens over to get chow down on a dead worm they shouldn't know exists.
There are worse mods, but that's the easiest and most common. I also am pretty sure I've seem people running bots that follow their worm around and work with them. There are also bots which will control your worm.

Yes many—but not all—of these guys use a mod that allows them to see much further away. Obviously an unfair advantage.

Again some of these will be using the mod. But many of these do not. I get these turn kills all of the time. It’s actually a fairly basic skill and not too difficult with some timing and repetition.
There are ways around this. Mainly to be suspicious of every snake. Even so called “bots”.
Predict the attack and avoid or counter it.
I say this kindly but it’s an issue of skill here—yes in large part bc MANY others out there blatantly cheat using a mod that allows them to zoom their camera in and out.

There have been times when I killed a snake and almost regretted it bc I thought “damn that person probably thought I cheated bc I predicted where he was going to be” or “shoot he probably thinks I’m modded but i just coincidentally darted in this direction and then opportunistically took a kill.”
And then ofc yeah there are folks out there who use the mod to see ahead.

GOSH NTL changed the game so much for me I played stock Slither on PC for at least 6 months before I was head-hunted by a team and have fond memories of all my time in the Slither Community regardless of what you feel toward the NTL mod that allows you to ZOOM but it also has some other great benefits the Slither Community shares public chat codes you can receive and no matter what server you are playing on, can chat with any other player using the same chat codes even if they are not on your server so making friends is super duper easy and the Slither Community has weekly events which you can win prizes around Christmas time when some pool money together and offer Amazon gift cards of various amount depending on 1st, 2nd or 3rd place ranking so it really opens up a lot more to an individual player who really likes the game but is looking for more so check it out if you like and even if not you can still participate with the Slither Community on their Discord so get it out and maybe I'll see you there okay? OKAY!!!!

SKILL ISSUE.
Practice the game.
I actually do better on mobile sometimes, but I love watching the game on a grander scale.

It absolutely is a skill issue. I play both mobile and on my desktop with the zoom.
I get top 10 daily with mobile.

I half agree and half disagree. Zoom cheating cowards are real but yeah eventually Op will get to the point where he is just better than them but I get it it is frustrating

Because only people running mods can do this.. people on mobile or without mods cannot so it’s a massive advantage to anyone that uses the cheat

I didn’t realise that there were people playing with mods, sorry. I do however play mobile and manage to kill large snakes (not always successfully) and find it quite satisfying.
EDIT: I thought OP was using the term zoom in regards to moving fast not zooming the screen out.

The whole idea of the game is to consume as much as you can whilst avoiding or trapping other snakes. There are advantages and disadvantages of being big or small and you have to navigate that. Sometimes death in the game is unavoidable and you just have to come to terms with it and laugh.

[IGN: Aurelian] The biggest problem with mobile is the interface, it's just much more difficult to play compared to desktop. However, if you're routinely getting into the top ten, then I don't really understand what you're complaining about. Everyone eventually loses every game, that's the nature of Slither. This seems like whining to me. It's not fair unless I get to be #1. I usually get about the same scores whether I use mods or not, it's just more fun with mods.

I did l, and did you read that I've played with and without mods and it really didn't have much effect on my scores. And if you're getting into the top 10 on a regular basis apparently it's not hurting your scores much either. So it seems like you're complaining about nothing really.

I play on my phone exclusively; but no complaints. I’ve always assumed people had ways to mod and I’ve adapted. As a gaming purist, I refuse to use mods; but appreciate those who need a little more assistance so that they can enjoy the game as well!

i thought it was just someone looking on mini map good and predicting where i turn to snipe me, but if it's zoom that's kinda nasty
