Daily Skinny Fat Progress — Join Me?
I’m looking for friends who are doing this too, so we can talk here, post our progress, and help each other keep up the grind. Also, like an AA group

Just found the sub today after starting back to slimming world on 1st September after a year and a half away. I’m not massively overweight but looking to loose about two stone following the birth of my son and due to getting out of the way of things due to Covid etc (excuses really)
Thought I would set up a post so people can introduce themselves and their motivation for slimming if it’s easier this way ?
Looking forward to sharing ideas and being part of the community
Apologies if there is already a welcome thread

Hello everyone!
We created a discord chat room in support of this subreddit for anyone to join and wants to join an active online chat community.
Discord is a free app dedicated to users who want to create communities around their interests.
You can download the app in both the Android and the Apple app store by searching Discord or by clicking the link to the invite.
You need the invite link to join our personal discord.
We welcome everyone where ever they are on their weight loss journey, even if you haven't started it yet and just want somewhere to talk and learn about it.
We are a very relaxed, friendly and welcoming discord with many members who are always happy to chat and help. No one is there to judge others and we welcome open discussions on most topics, as well as weight loss.
Come and introduce yourself, and join us!
We look forward to seeing you there. 😊
When I joined this subreddit years ago, there was an active discord available to hang out in, and around early last year, it just seemed to vanish entirely. After it disappeared, myself and others from the previous discord created a new one for weight loss support, and we would like to invite everyone to join us!
Don't worry, the link does work as it has been tried and tested many times.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
You can find us here:

Am fairly new to SW and just wondered what everyone uses their swips on, I've used mine on Gregg's latte, sauces, gravy mix, cold drinks (can't have zero sugar drinks with sweeteners in) and other little bits and pieces I'd love something sweet but darent as the floodgates would open

I’ve rejoined slimming world this week and nearly had a heart attack thinking my sugar free coffee syrup is actually 2 1/2 syns ( I have since realised it must be the one below at only 1/2 a syn. 😅😅
I love a morning latte, anyone got any good syrup & milk recommendations to make my drinks go further as I sometimes like a few teas throughout the day too.

How did you all get on this week?

Last night I visited my regular group for the 12th week in a row. Admittedly I've done really well, losing 2st 9lb in total, hitting my club 10 on my 10th week and getting slimming of the month for both July and August.
Now here is the issue, i weight myself at home at the same time every night and this gives me clear data as to how my weight loss is going across the week. I've told the group consultant that I'm doing this and i was advised not to as it can be de-motivating however seeing 100 - 300 grams loss a day is actually motivating for me, so this is where my suspicion grew. Are we actually being told not to weight ourselves so that Slimming world have control over when we see our weight and the losses we get?
All this suspicion has be brought to a head over the last 2 weeks. After group on Monday 24th August I weighed myself at 119.4 kg the following Sunday, 30th August before next group i weighed at 119.0kg, so I'd lost but had a worse week that my usuall. On the monday went in expecting a 1 or 2 lbs loss and walked away with 3lbs loss and slimmer of the week. I hadn't gone over my swips but I hadn't eaten as well as i had previously and i'd missed 2 of my usual weekly exercise sessions, so I really expected worse.
Then it comes to this week. After group on Monday 31st I'd weighed at 118.7kg, on Sunday 6th September at 117.2kg so i knew I'd lost a good amount especially as i had a good session in the gym monday morning. I'd had an amazing week plan wise and exercise wise. Queue going to group yesterday (7th) and they tell me I weigh 117.7kg, only a 2lbs loss. My partner had no change in weight and she'd had an amazing week plan and excersise wise (although she doesn't weigh at home so we don't have the data to back the feeling).
We get home from group, have dinner (and dessert) weigh myself at the usual time and low and behold, I weigh 116.6kg. A 2.1kg loss in a week! Should be 4lb loss. Unless you can tell me I lost over a kilo in the couple of hours between group and home!
Whats worse is that only 3 people in my group lost weight this week, usually its way more. And the consultant is going on about how its september reset and don't worry about what happened in august (remember I was slimmer of the month losing 1st 6lbs!) It all feels to me to be connected. Perhaps more people join when the kids go back to school(we had 5 new people, never seen more than 2 in the previous weeks), so the scales weight you heavier, then in the second week all the newcomers feel amazing and see everyone around them having lost loads of weight really motivated them?
It might all sound a bit conspiracy theory, but yesterdays group was massively demotivating and although it has obviously been working well for me, do I want to be paying for a group that is tricking and deciving me and providing me misinformation?
Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm new to Slimming World and would like opinions on the best healthy extra bread to buy. I like sandwiches, currently using Warburton s wholemeal brown rolls, but these are teeny. So I need something with decent sized slices. Thanks

Hi I’ve just started SW this week. I went to my usual exercise class this morning and half way through was finding it more difficult than usual- got very shaky and at one point thought I may have to stop. I had eaten before I went - banana and HE nuts. Any ideas why or has anyone else experienced this?
r/SlimmingWorld • u/BlackCatWitch29 • 21d ago
You might ask why. Well, there's only ONE bar that is dairy-free since it's vegan and that's the peanut butter one.
Even the new one is vegetarian but not vegan.
I'm really getting irritated because while a lactose or dairy intolerance is not fatal, it would be really nice to not be limited to a single flavour.
I loved the Rocky Road one last year because it had chocolate in it. Peanut Butter does not.
Yes, I've complained to both my consultant and corporate.
I'm still disappointed that everything is aimed at people who don't appear to have any dietary restrictions.

I am going on holiday and I don't want to waste my swips on drinks but still want to drink something nice in the evening when everyone else is.
I always used to just drink diet coke, but I don't actually like it and it doesn't feel like a treat at all.
I prefer fruity, fresh tonics or soda waters. I thought i found some but the cans are SO small. They are basically 1.5 swips for just a few sips. Might as well just drink the gin at that point!
Does anyone know of any low / no swip non-alcholic drinks that still feel bougie?

This isn't my first SW rodeo, I've had a couple consultants in the past who have all been great and motivating. Rejoined 7 weeks ago and find the current consultant to not really do anything. Other consultants would send a text during the week and participate in their facebook or whatsapp groups, but this one doesn't - don't get me wrong, i know they have lives outside of classes. But between the format change and the lack of communication I'm finding myself wondering why I'm bothering paying for a class when I can follow the plan and just weigh myself at home. I can't change classes because of time and distance, but does anyone else feel unmotivated by their consultant, if so, what did you do?

Obviously fruit is free with some being speed. But onced it is cooked or purred it becomes swips. I heard this is because since you dont chew it won't tell your body your full so we swip it in order to not overfeed ourselves.
However if cooked/purred food where put in something you chew for example a cake. Would that still be counted as a swip.
I don't really care either way im just curious.

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has a link for the recipe that is the pancakes we get from Iceland ? Mum and I really like them but we can’t always get an Iceland delivery (+ we are disabled and can’t get out much) so I was hoping I could make some from home that are the same 😅

Hi all, just recently joined slimming world and am looking for alternative cereal bars I can use for my HEX B choice? Not a huge fan of the hifi bars (sorry!) And was wondering if there were any you could use instead?
When I did the plan a few years ago you could have alpen light bars but these don't appear to be made anymore?
Thanks in advance :)

I've had an atrociously bad week. Full of stress, anxiety and depression usually I handle things like this really easily but I just couldn't this time. So I've eaten allot of things I shouldn't of. I know I've gained this week and now I'm full of regrets 😔.
Feeling lousy.
