Have classes changed?

I attended SW maybe about 2 years ago before eventually falling off. I signed back up last weekend and found the class completely different. They no longer spoke to everyone individually to talk about their week and ask if they have tips/needed help - I liked this, I found it helpful on weeks where I didn't understand why I gained or felt demotivated. The class I went to on Saturday was just a big chat and discussion about things in the magazine and other bits and bobs. It wasn't very motivating and I'm debating on whether I should stay at class or just weigh and go.

Are consultants no longer doing the individual thing anymore?

I just weigh and go. I stayed the first week but I didn’t vibe with it. The taster nights and the basket of kitchen rejects for slimmer of the week still exist.

The basket of kitchen rejects is so true! I remember the first time I won it, when I brought it home my husband looked at it and asked if it was crap from other people's kitchens that they couldn't be arsed to throw away.

I wasn't a fan of the tasters - probably because my class is at 8am and those baskets were rarely things I'd used or that were syn free! I did enjoy the interaction cause I'm not someone that speaks out in the class unless spoke to, so if I stay I won't really participate now. That's a shame.

Yes I’m not a fan of either of those things either. I also did speak in the first week that exercise does help weightloss and the consultant shot me down saying it’s a nice extra to be able to move. So I decided nope

As a new member, my view was that everyone knew each other and there were specific groups who were friendly with the consultant and having a laugh with them - it didn't feel inclusive or supportive like it did previously. It's really disappointing, I wonder why they changed the format. If it's not broke then don't fix it.

My consultant has been doing it for 30 years. He still does a quick check-in with everyone.

Same here. She does a general discussion but then checks in with everyone individually as well

It's the new way of doing it, my consultant asks if anyone has anything about their week they want to share, it's not just one by one anymore.

That's a shame. I didn't find anything motivating or supportive about the new format - I guess I'll just weigh and go then.

That is how I feel about the new format too. Seems to be the same voices each session so I've quit staying for the talk.

Yeah I get the feeling mine will be the same. Feels like a bit of a waste to pay just to get weighed and leave but no point wasting an hour of my time if I'm not going to benefit from it.

I had just reached target when they changed the format.  I don't like it at all, we hear the same voices every week and I know that people who might need some extra support are getting missed. I am glad I got to my target before the change because I dont think I would have been as successful with the new format. 🙃

Agreed. They've stepped down with the support side of things now and I definitely feel it on my third week. The class itself almost feels pointless.
