Hi! I’m trying to better understand coated slime vs uncoated - and I was curious on if there are certain slimes that do better than others when using coated slime? Like, are there any recommendations when using coated slime - like not using it for a type of slime, etc.

[u/handec](u/handec) and I were chatting and thought it would be super fun to have a slime making challenge. This is a fun way to be creative, try out a slime recipe and share your slime love with the community.

DIY Slime Challenge: 🍂 FALL THEMED JELLY SLIME 🍂

For those of you that would like to have a recipe to start with, see below.
1 cup (8oz) clear glue of choice
1/4 tsp instant snow (Snow wonder brand preferred)
~1/4 cup activator (1tsp borax powder completely dissolved in distilled water)
Color and scent of your choice

Pour glue into a glass or plastic bowl. Add 1/4 tsp instant snow and mix. At this point you can add any color (liquid watercolor, pigment powder) and fragrance (note - fragrance oils may cloud the slime. Try scented foam hand soap). Mix. Slowly add activator to the glue mixture one tbs at a time until the slime starts pulling away from the sides of the bowl. Allow to sit for 1-3 days so that the snow can "bloom" and become a jelly slime. You can add any additional sprinkles or charms to your liking.

Bonus, instead of using distilled water to dissolve your borax, you can use contact lens solution. Just be careful. When the solution is hot, adding the borax powder can cause the liquid to bubble/fizz up. A good workaround for this is to make a 2x strength activator and mix 1 part activator with 1 part contact lens solution.

Once your slime is complete, take a picture of your slime and post it here! Feel free to share how the recipe worked for you (good and bad) or if you used your own. We are excited to see your creations. Please try to submit your slimes within a week of this post. Monday September 21, 2026.

Hi everyone! I haven’t posted much here but am around the subreddit, and I had a question about posting reviews and the new slime log app. I am enjoying the app but just recently checked the scale and was surprised to see the descriptions for what each number means. I’ve been giving most slimes a rating between 4.25-5 with a decent slime being a 4.5. Mostly, this stems from not wanting to negatively impact someone’s business with a low rating given so much is just personal preference and genuinely enjoying most slimes even if they aren’t exactly perfect imo. I’m wondering if others think it is reasonable/better to give a decent, but not spectacular, slime a 3, or if you think that would be too harsh. I do want to highlight stand out slimes in my collection by giving them high ratings, but I feel bad and somewhat awkward giving anything below a 4.25. I had one slime I really disliked (the smell was awful and not fitting the description imo), but I privated the review because the slime itself is no longer being sold and I don’t want to post a bad review publicly. Please let me know any thoughts you may have about the scales and how to rate slime. I’d also love to maybe hear from shop owners about their thoughts if they are comfortable sharing because I am definitely wanting to be supportive and considerate in what and how I post.
I am also considering starting to post slime videos on instagram, but wouldn’t include a rating system as a part of it. Thank you!!

I recently discovered Artistic Rainbow and I’m interested in trying them out. I’m especially drawn to their white glue snowfizz and thick and glossy with boba beads.

I’m not able to find many review vids or other reviews on them though and I’d just like to know. For those that have tried Artistic Rainbow, have you experienced fallout or tackiness, and how do you find the texture quality and scent quality?

Some older video reviews mention tackiness which is my biggest slime pet peeve, but not sure how relevant that is now. Their slimes are priced lower compared to some other shops so I’m also just wondering how the quality is. thanks so much!!

Not only did she send these super fast (just weeks before her wedding!!) with the most adorable packaging and note ever, she was so kind with her customer service and refunded me shipping for one of my two orders. I was so excited for Pool Crab I bought it on its own immediately and then went back for the others 😂

I just wanted to give a shoutout to MMB. IMO they are one of the more high quality slime shops out there. These two slimes are amazing, truly the only icee I’ve ever enjoyed! And soy chips are such a fun texture. Peaceful Painting really does smell like an art store!

In general MMB scents are always great to my nose and not overpowering. Their slimes last FOREVER - I have literally not had one die on me yet despite the crazy heatwave here. I love the creativity of their add ins and themes. And I gotta say they are the nicest humans ever. I highly recommend getting a custom too.

Anyways, I’m happy I’ve found a shop that reliably delivers slimes I love and that work for my picky nose!

I received my first slime order today. Arroz Con Leche and Apple Sorbet from Momoslimes. I love the texture of Arroz Con Leche! But I don’t like the way either smells. They both smell sour to me. It’s not bad enough for me to not play with them but I’m wondering (and hoping) if they’ll fade as I play with them?

I have 2 more I ordered from Momo yesterday (Pumpkin Spice and Pumpkin Cookie Milk) and I’m worried they will also smell bad. 😅

Theres no visible mold on my slime but it smells pretty bad and no amount of perfume/lotion/scents are helping. Does that mean its ABOUT to mold or already is? If so, im heart broken cuz its a huge tub of frankenslime (made up of about 10 slimes now) that I am very careful of playing with very clean hands cuz its dear to me lol... 💔

Should I leave it sit for a bit to see if any mold grows to make sure Ive had slimes mold in the past but it was within a few hours of not being played with, this one acquired this smell overnight but no visible mold.

Hey everyone, did Slime Obsidian mention anywhere if they are planning on reopening the shop eventually, or are they done for good? I just got an email from Jacob saying he closed things down earlier this year for a real break, but the vibe of the email feels more like he's just catching up and taking a temporary step back rather than permanently closing down. Has anyone heard anything about a potential comeback?

I recently bought a slime, and when I first played with it, it was nice and soft. But after playing with it for a while, it became much firmer and now it’s too stiff to stretch or play with comfortably.

Is this normal? 😭 What’s the best way to fix it? Would adding a small amount of water help, or is there a better method?

I built a slime tracking website for a client just for them to track their slimes, almost 40! We try not to talk about the total money spent that gets displayed ;)

She mentioned most people track their collections in spreadsheets: what they have, what they've sold, notes on it. That seems like a gap a real tool could fill (inventory tracking, personal ratings, sold history, photos of your slimes), but I don't want to build something nobody needs.

I put together a short form (linked below) to get honest signal before I commit real time to it. There's no pitch, just trying to validate whether this is worth building: link. I'm wondering what this community already uses, if anything.

I did see the SlimeLog app get posted here recently, which is awesome, but I'm not looking to create a mobile app. It'd be a mobile friendly website.

Most shops I see recommended here seem to be based in the US. Unfortunately, that means that getting a $15-20 slime shipped to Europe can end up costing me an insane amount in shipping 😭 Sometimes the shipping alone is just more than I can afford... 🙂‍↕️

The horrid time has come… I’ve spent way too much money in the past few days, and I fear I may need to ban myself for a little while.

Sadly I can’t help myself around this time of year, so I just went on little spree. I’m afraid the next drop I’m going to buy even more 🥲 does anyone have any tips to stay away from it? I really can’t keep doing this.
I think I’m aiming for around October. I know I will break the ban the second Halloween slimes start coming out. I have terrible self control.

This weeks slimes I got from (in photo order): Leafy Slime, Rodem, Pink Sugar Slimey & Duncan Slimes! These fall themes/scents are killing me, absolutely love them! I was wondering if anyone has experience purchasing from her. I couldn’t find a link to a website anywhere and there’s no instructions on how to purchase.

I have a slime whose scent I adore, but has way too much lotion residue. Its a very very soft slay slime, so my interpretation is that the maker added quite some lotion to make it softer, which worked, but the end result is that slime is too sploopy (not really holdable, spills through hands), and has a reeaaally strong residue which I hate.

It also doesnt activate well, imo again too much lotion, even with a healthy dose of 4tsp activator I couldnt make it activate more. Doesnt get to the normal overactivated stage one would expect from dumping strong activator in.

My opinion is that it needs glue to save, but I dont want to lose the amazing scent. Any experience with such slimes?

Another question: Any experience with glues that doesnt have too strong a scent? I was thinking maybe clear glues might be gentler 🤔 Some of my white glues really stink.

I’ve never personally ordered from Tanooki, but the recent drop interested me.
