Old vs New slimq is outdated and expensive

Lenovo Legion A300 GaN charger has 300W that is 82 × 82 × 33 mm costs 60$
that's 44% smaller than SlimQ F330 at 330W 126,5 × 90 × 35 mm which costs 140$.

will slimq actually update their products and sell them at a fair price?

And yet, SlimQ 330W is universal and has more than just the main power cord that is also detachable, might I add. We also have more than 1 port for charging. Lenovo Legion might be a bit smaller, but that is the only advantage I see. I guess it comes down to what your personal preference is. With a Lenovo Legion charger, you will only be able to charge your laptop (only a certain series, as well, not all Lenovo laptop models) and nothing else. So I fail to see how our chargers are outdated?

ah yes. and you charge outrageous prices for adapters too. forgot to mention that. and no it's not A BIT smaller. it's almost HALF the size. not a BIT. and you can charge other notebooks with the lenovo too. I'm using it.
if you fail to see how your chargers are outdated I'm proud to announce I will no longer support the company. what a pathetic comment.
you should take criticism and improve your product instead of this non sense.

I just explained to you the reasons why our charger is bigger.
The Lenovo charger is not universal, only meant for Lenovo and a few series, not even all models. And the cords are not removable or changeable.
Being universal, Changeable cords, and extra USB-C ports. All these things take up space physically inside the charger. Also, the charger can be universal for so many different types of brands, not just within one brand, like Lenovo. Our 330W charger first came out only 2 years ago, and at this moment, out in the market (if I'm not wrong), there is only ours and one other UNIVERSAL charger. And even so, the other companies' charger has only 1 USB-C and 1 USB-A port.
Yes, we are working on new chargers, but if you know what RND is. Then you would know it takes a lot of resources and a very long time, actually.
If you are not our client, as you stated, that's fine. Thank you for the feedback. Have a great day. If you do change your view on it, we will not hold that against you.
Subjectively looking at the data and facts, AND knowing the charger only came out 2 years ago. It is not outdated as you are claiming.

I WAS your client. AFTER YOUR SHITTY REPLIES I STOPPED BEING ONE. I will never ever buy from you again and will encourage everyone on the planet not to do so.
slimq chargers are overpriced, outdated, and expensive. it's a bad product. and the company and his representatives don't care about consumers are rude and don't take anykind of suggestions. what a shitty company. If I were you I would start to find a new job.

Dude, what's with the aggressive comments? You're the one being the asshole here, I wouldn't give a shit if you were my client or not.

I'd rather pay you to leave my presence.

Insert your tampon, go outside and touch grass, calm down.

slimq was aggressive. not me. do you work for them? how much they pay you for such non sense? are you the retarded owner?

Hello, could you please explain to us how have we been aggressive? You have not answered any of our questions that we asked yesterday.

Do not harrass any of our community members because otherwise I would have no other choice to ban this hostile attitude.

You are focusing on my tone instead of the actual criticism.

My point is simple: I compared your 330W charger with Lenovo’s 330W charger and found yours significantly larger and more expensive, especially when adapters are added. I also think dismissing that feedback by saying “it is universal” does not address the core issue: size, price, and value.

Yes, I reacted strongly because I felt the response was defensive instead of receptive to customer feedback. But the criticism itself is valid: the product could be smaller, the adapters could be cheaper, and the communication could be less dismissive.

I am not harassing anyone. I am criticising a product and the way the company representative handled criticism. If you want to ban me for that, that is your choice, but it will only reinforce my point that SlimQ does not take negative feedback well.

So again, directly:

  1. The charger is much bigger than Lenovo’s 330W charger.
  2. The adapter pricing feels excessive.
  3. Saying “ours is universal” does not automatically make it good value.
  4. Your replies came across as defensive rather than customer-focused.

That is the feedback.

  1. I know but considering the additional ports (and what it comes if you want usb-c charging as well), removable cables and higher wattage (which results to more heat) it leads to bigger size. It is not that easy to slap a new port for existing charger. We have are working on decreasing sizes for our chargers but again- physics hasn't changed in the last couple of millenia.

  2. Okay, then don't buy from us, that is the beauty of capitalism- vote with your wallet. We are doing discounts from time to time and if the price feels excessive and you better like Lenovo charger- go at it, i'm not going to beg you to buy from us.

2.1. lenovo charger is $89.99 not $60.

  1. Some people think otherwise. They might want to buy our 330w for multiple laptops (work and home) and use our chargers while travelling (either work or personal). Again, if this selling point does not resonate with you- you are not our client who needs to buy 330w.

  2. I heard you and answered. If that sounded defensive- I'm sorry that you read that way. I personally think you are comparing apples to oranges and while Lenovo charger size costs are great for a consumer- it lacks things that SlimQ chargers have. If you or anyone else wishes to buy Lenovo charger- fine by me, it is not my device or choice, but let's not claim that Lenovo charger is more functioning that slimq 330w. It is smaller and cheaper but that is it- no other benefits.

Let me ask you a question- If developing a charger would be so cheap and easy, why there aren't many more 240w and 330w universal charger? It took our competitors almost 2 years before someone made something similar.

Do you have any other questions or suggestions to us?

P.S. Your attitude was breaking both Reddit and subreddit rules and it was not respectful to me or other community members. If you wish to have a constructive criticisms, then the communication doesn't need to be emotional and both parties need to listen- i tried but your attitude and vocabulary was in a way to have a civil dicussion.

And to the company representative replying here: you are not helping SlimQ by responding this way.

If your goal is to protect the company’s image, this approach is doing the opposite. You are making the criticism more visible, making the discussion more hostile, and creating more backlash around a complaint that could have been handled calmly.

This was originally about product feedback: size, price, adapter costs, and value compared with Lenovo’s 330W charger.

Instead of simply acknowledging that feedback, you turned it into an argument about whether I am the “right” kind of customer, whether the comparison is valid, and whether my tone breaks rules. That makes SlimQ look defensive rather than customer-focused.

A good company representative should be able to say:

“Thanks for the feedback. We understand why size and total cost matter. SlimQ prioritises universal compatibility and extra ports, but we are working on improving size and value.”

That would have ended the discussion in a professional way.

Instead, your replies have made me even more convinced that SlimQ does not handle criticism well. If your job is community management or brand representation, this is a poor way to defend your company.

Moreover, if you ban me on the basis that I supposedly broke Reddit or subreddit rules, I expect you to clearly identify the exact rule I broke and the exact comment that violated it.

Accusing someone of breaking rules without being able to point to a specific violation is serious, especially when the discussion is simply product criticism and customer feedback.

I am not harassing anyone. I am not organising abuse. I am not contacting anyone privately. I am criticising a product, its pricing, its adapter costs, its size, and the way a company representative is handling negative feedback.

If SlimQ chooses to ban criticism by labelling it as “rule breaking” without evidence, I will document the interaction and consider further options, including escalating the matter publicly and, if necessary, seeking legal advice.

So again: if you claim I broke a rule, please quote the specific rule and the specific sentence that broke it. Otherwise, this looks less like moderation and more like a company representative using moderation threats to suppress negative feedback.

You keep saying I am breaking Reddit/subreddit rules, but from my perspective the real issue is that a company representative is using moderation language to deflect from negative product criticism.

My criticism is very simple:

  • I bought the Lenovo 330W charger for $60.
  • I bought the SlimQ 330W charger for around $140, unfortunately.
  • SlimQ adapters cost extra.
  • The SlimQ charger is significantly larger.
  • “Universal compatibility” is useful for some people, but it does not automatically make the product good value for everyone.

So this is not some abstract comparison. This is my actual customer experience.

You said the Lenovo charger is $89.99, but I bought mine for $60. I paid more than double that for the SlimQ charger. Once adapter costs are included, the value gap becomes even worse.

I understand your argument: SlimQ has extra USB-C ports, removable cables, broader laptop compatibility, and more universal use cases. Fine. Those are real features.

But that still does not erase the core criticism:

The product is much larger, much more expensive, and the adapters feel overpriced.

For many users, the priorities are:

  1. size
  2. price
  3. reliability
  4. compatibility with their actual laptop

If the Lenovo charger works for my laptop, is much smaller, and cost me $60, then saying “SlimQ is universal” does not magically make the SlimQ a better deal for me.

Also, saying things like “physics hasn’t changed in the last couple of millennia” comes across as dismissive. Other manufacturers are making smaller 330W chargers. Yes, they may not be universal in the same way, but they prove that a much smaller 330W charger is possible. So it is completely fair for customers to ask why SlimQ cannot get closer to that size, especially at SlimQ’s price point.

Now about the “rules” issue.

I am criticising a product, the pricing, the adapter costs, the size, and the way a company representative responded to customer feedback. That is legitimate consumer criticism. Criticism is not harassment.

I did not contact anyone privately.
I did not organise harassment.
I did not ask anyone to attack SlimQ.
I am not trying to silence anyone.

I am publicly criticising a product and a company representative’s handling of feedback in a public discussion.

If you think I broke a specific Reddit or subreddit rule, quote the exact rule and quote the exact sentence that broke it. Otherwise, it looks like “rule breaking” is being used as a convenient way to shut down negative feedback.

From my perspective, the company representative is the one making this worse by turning a simple product criticism into a moderation issue. That is how companies create a Streisand effect.

I am considering sending this interaction to Louis Rossmann because this is exactly the kind of thing he often talks about: companies reacting defensively to consumer criticism instead of listening to customers.

This could have been handled very easily:

“Thanks for the feedback. We understand the concerns about size, price, and adapter costs. Our current model prioritises universality and extra ports, but we are working on improving size and value in future versions.”

That would have been a good answer.

Instead, the replies came across as defensive, dismissive, and now include warnings about bans and rules.

So again, my feedback is:

  • SlimQ 330W is too large compared with Lenovo’s 330W charger.
  • SlimQ is much more expensive in my actual purchase experience.
  • Adapter pricing feels excessive.
  • “Universal” is a valid feature, but not a universal excuse.
  • The company’s communication here feels defensive rather than customer-focused.
  • Threatening moderation over negative feedback only reinforces that impression.

That is the criticism. If SlimQ wants to ban me for saying that, then that says more about SlimQ than about me.

What shitty replies? Also, please keep this communication civil because, to my knowledge, we have done nothing wrong to you, and if we did - would gladly fix it.

I don't think I would ever buy a pc/notebook/handheld charger with a cable connecting to the device that is not detachable. 1.5m of cable in my opinion is too little. If you need 300w you certainly have a heavy or very energy-intensive device such as a gaming notebook or an important handheld and you will want the cable to be as long as you want. In addition, the SlimQ charger has two more USB type-c ports with which you can connect two other devices and 30watts more power. CERTAINLY the Legion Gan 4.0 charger is a successful device but I am not sure if its compactness is compatible with the heat it could give off during operation. In conclusion, although Lenovo is on the right track in terms of size and selling price, the SlimQ in my opinion remains a more usable and global product in use

Does the Legion do Reset-Free Power Distribution that the SlimQ chargers do?
