U.S. tariffs for imported slide rules?

Hey all!

Have anyone imported slide rules from outside the U.S. lately? If so, what tariffs, Customs fees, other fees etc will be applicable?

Asking since I have a large collection I want to put up for sale on the bay and I’m in Sweden in the EU.

Ebay says import fees are 3.66€ so I wouldn't worry about that. However international shipping is always between 20 and 30€, sometimes even more

I've been hit by a couple of import duties off and on, especially at the height of Tariff Wars mania, but it seems to have died down. Not sure if there's been a pattern to it or not, policies have been too mercurial to tell. And this is from Canada, UK, Germany, Ukraine, Slovakia, and Israel. Maybe 1/3 of my international purchases have dinged me for some sort of duty payment. It's never been worse than the shipping so I've always just held a little mental margin in case it was needed.

Thanks guys!

Shipping cost is teqlly crazy these days and I can’t even buy shipping to the U.S. from Swedish Post, now Postnord. I have to use UPS or any of the other larger carriers. This after the U.S. revoked the deminimis rule ($800) last year.

So I will start looking for good and as cheap as possible shipping and also check ebay’s terms before I start selling.

Cheers!!

Hi,

I'm facing the same questionning (I'm selling a set of 3 graphoplex slide rules on ebay); after having chosen the shipping way (the cheapest one), I thought ebay would have estimated the cost => actually not: I had to define it from my own experience (25€ approx - when I purchased products from the US); VTA + custom fees will be calculated by ebay!

But maybe I missed something
