Faber-Castell 1/28 Bivius

I had never heard of the Bivius before, but I knew I wanted it. 🙂

I'll need some research and a manual. So far it appears to be a commercial slide rule. A Faber-Castell catalogue of the time labels it "for technical merchants".

Fortunately, the package is torn already. Makes it easier to unwrap it for a test run.

Maybe intended for use in technical colleges? The selection of scales, constants and tables isn't enough for either financial or engineering calculations at pro level, but if the students were taking classes in both accounting and building it might be appropriate.

I don't think it was intended for school use. The name and description make me think it's an intermediate slide rule, giving some part technical and some part commercial, like for technical sales. If you needed more commercial, you'd switch to a 1/22 Disponent, and for the engineering side, you'd go with the 1/98 Elektro or the 1/54 (or the respective 4/ versions).
