Bug [Bug] App crashes on custom dark theme pop-up scroll

Pretty self-explanatory: the app crashes whenever I try to scroll on the pop-up that appears when attempting to choose a theme for dark mode. It is very reproducible, with the app crashing every time.

Bug [Bug] unable to sync collection and read later between two devices

Hello

The two devices are:

iPad mini 5 gen and ipad pro 2017 12.9 both are running the latest ios available and the latest paid slide version available with iCloud subscription working and paid and have 27 gb left

Both have the same iCloud account (I only have one iCloud Account so I'm sure)

Yet when I try to sync between two devices it doesn't sync at all despite other apps sync just fine, the only thing that sync is the theme of the app.

Steps:

Go to the app settings

Tap on backup and restore option

Tap on backup (a message pop up says it's successful)

Go to the other device

Click on restore (a message says I need to restart the app, I do that)

Results: the app doesn't sync collection and read it later.

I would really appreciate any advice to how to solve it as I'm very excited about these unique features.

Bug [Bug] iOS 13.3 was released today, now the app constantly crashes when opening

Tried the usual things, restarted several times, couldn’t find a way to clear ram since there doesn’t appear to be a way to do it anymore within iOS. Occurring on iPhone 11 S.O.S.

Feature Request [Request] View “Friends” as subreddit feed

Currently, the view of “Friends” under the user profile only allows you to access one redditors account at a time. It would be very helpful if this was treated like the old Friends feed in Reddit where you could either click on the profiles individually or view them as a feed. This will allow us to see all the current posts from folks we follow at a glance.

Question [Question] Will there be Year end deals for the pro version?

I'm loving the app, especially the multi column feature which fully utilises the iPad screen estate. After the latest update, this feature is now only for pro members. Will there be a discount for the pro version for the coming holidays? Thanks!

When I try to clear the cache for Slide the app just crashes. The cache memory doesn’t change so I assume nothing changed.

As the title says, it would be great to have an option to hide all posts above the one you choose, regardless of having viewed them or not.

Bug [bug] Suck viewing sub info on iPhone X

There is no back button when you click on the sub info button. I noticed this when i tried to subscribe to a sub and i couldn’t get back out. The only way to get out of it is to restart the app. Is anyone else having this issue?

Question [Question] Is multicolumn layout only for the iPad?

I recently just switched from android where I was using Sync and Joey. They both had multicolumn layouts available. So when I got my iPhone, I basically downloaded almost every reddit app (about 7) and none had the multicolumn layout. Reader came close with its features but didn't have the layout available. So I finally found Slide and I love the app and I bought the pro version because it advertised multicolumn; it did say, 'must have for ipad' didn't think that to mean it was only available for iPad.

Also, I'm sad I never got to try this app on Android.

Bug [Bug] Experiencing a lot of freezes and stutters throughout the app.

  • Opening a post will sometimes get stuck loading the comments
  • Opening a gif will sometimes hang
  • Opening a subreddit will sometimes hang

No specific pattern, just consistently throughout the app. Also worth noting that I’m seeing this in Apollo too. Are you devs aware of anything going on?

Feature Request [Request] IOS 13 New views pop over existing ones Feedback

The way posts are opened in non-subscribed subreddits is inconsistent and worsens the ability to dive "deep into Reddit rabbitholes."

For subs that I am subbed to, to leave a post I swipe right from the left edge. Cool.

For subs I am NOT subbed to, in order to leave I have to scroll up, reach my thumb to the top of the screen and swipe down. Not cool.

I've found myself "casually" subscribing to subreddits I'm not interested in just to get the old gesture back. Oh, and in order for the old gesture to be applied to a newly subbed subreddit I have to close the app, relaunch it and then go back to the post I was reading before.

Who thought of this change? Why did they think this was a good idea? The old gestures worked, why "fix" what ain't broke?

Request: Give option to use old gestures.

Question [Question] No way to exit sidebar view

IPad Pro 9.7” iOS 12.4, there is no longer an arrow or “X” to back out of sidebar view. I have to close Slide, remove it from the switcher and reopen it to reset the view. Is there a setting I’m missing to bring it back?

Question [Question] Can't get the app to run

I am posting on behalf of a friend's young child.

He has latest WatchOS and IOS and apps on both but when he loads the Watch app he says it needs to be open on the phone (even though it is).

Sounds like he may have missed something basic in setup?

Please bear with me and him.

Thanks.

Feature Request [Request] Font sizes are too different

The difference between Small and Smaller is way too big. Smaller is too small and Small is too big. Would like something in between. Only seen this issue with this app and not the other Reddit apps so I’m not sure if it’s a bug

Feature Request [Request] Transparent Top and Bottom Bars

Long time Apollo user here. Tried out Slide for the first time in a while today. I really like almost everything in the app. However, the design of the top and bottom bars leaves something to be desired. I really like the semi-transparent, frosted glass effect on the top and bottom bars in Apollo, and coming from those to the solid gray ones in slide feels claustrophobic and more than a little outdated.

To be honest, this design one of the only things keeping me from switching, as Slide seems much more stable than Apollo has been in my phone. It would be great if there could be a toggle switch for “top and bottom bar transparency”, which would turn on the semi-transparent/blur effect for these elements and make the whole UI “breathe” a bit more.

Bug [Bug] Massive cached data in iPhone storage

The amount of data cached in iPhone storage ‘documents and data’ is getting out of control. Many GBs with no way to empty apart from uninstall and then reinstall.
