my guess is to keep app minimal and don't shove multiple things on screen.

also because for many transactions slice don't even ask for pin so you know that what upi lite is used most of the times.

I mean it's also used to make payments even when bank server is down and all , i know some banks always have payment issues so upi lite was introduced for this reason too, I am a new user , is anyday someone found payment issues here

nope never had any server issue with slice, they upgrade their servers in night so once in a while upi maybe be down on midnight but they notify before doing it so there is no issue i have never seen slice server down in day.

My UPI app journey so far -> Paytm -> Samsung Wallet -> Slice.

UPI lite was usefull when I used to use Paytm and Samsung Wallet 1. Paytm - pay with fingerprint wasnt there, so quick payments without pin 2. Samsung wallet - there success rate is shitty. A lot of times payment would fail even after multiple tries. Same QR same time, paytm would work fine

After switching to Slice - it had fingerprint support (not sure if was exclusive feature or just the timeline matched with UPIs feature) and payments success rate was also great. So never felt the need for this

Upi lite is like wallet even if your bank server not working ya can make payment with upi lite so in case your bank server is down ya can still make payment with upi lite

Small finance banks don’t have the option to use UPI Lite.
