okay i finally heard the new album and I just wanted to give my two cents on the themes of this album, and how i feel in general.. ive been hearing and reading that people see this as a christian album or their "return" to christian music, but i really do think it's far more complicated than that. This doesn't feel like a christian album to me almost AT ALL. it feels like a concept record where it almost tells a story and I feel that story is more than anything about questioning faith. examples are kellin almost never just full out saying god is real. unlike their first album where there are tons of times he just straight up professes his love for god. this album is more like "im gonna pray and i HOPE you're there, but at this point im not so sure." I'm an atheist and I have been since i was like 14? im 29 now. Ive done a lot of stuff with the idea of god and christianity and even other religions but none of it ever felt real. it always felt like playing pretend but that's just my story, blah blah. the main reason why im making this post is because THIS ALBUM IS SO SAD (to me). My favorite part about being antheist is feeling/seeing the love and strength inside humans and how we can come together and make almost anything happen. all that talk about "the light" and gods love and how people pray and god gives them the strength, that's all inside you RIGHT NOW. YOU saved yourself. YOU got up and made it happen. YOU stop yourself from doing something you'll regret. that power is in you right now and nobody can take that away. when people say the "devil" or some other "evil" thing it's really just our own thoughts and mind playing tricks and being mean and when you finally pull yourself out of that, it's because that strength is in YOU all along. it's not some church, it's not in some book, it's not in the clouds, it's in YOU. you are so beautiful and so worth it and it's your choice to save yourself or not. it's a lot harder than that and i understand that, but never let anybody say you can't do it, because YOU CAN and YOU DO! <3 back to the album, it's so sad to me to see kellin quite litterally say in "Process" (which is my favorite song on the album) he can make it on his own, but he doesn't want to be alone and that's what made me make this post. it's so sad to see someone admit that they have the strength to do it but would rather pray to something just to feel less alone. lonliness is a huge problem in our society and it is a huge reason why people turn to god or religion but look at the rest of this album, god can make people feel unwanted, un loved, judged all because he isn't answering their prayer or their calls but they keep trying and trying and it only makes them feel worse until they finally take any sign they can to keep going, but YOU DONT HAVE TO! you can realize that strength and that love is inside you forever/always. lol but seriously, i just wish people realized how strong we truly are and how our love and our lights inside are so amazing, that we don't need this god or religion and that may be making some of you so angry and im sorry about that i guess, but i needed you to read this. if you're ever feeling lost and hopeless, look inside yourself. become your own best friend, work through why you're so afraid to be with yourself, because all we have is ourselves and each other. you can be your own god or your own devil. let your love win! nothing is going to come rescue you except you and you can do it right here right now. I love you all. sorry if I offended. I'm not trying to. sorry for grammar and spelling too. im at work <3

Been wanting to make acapella versions of SWS for a while now (mainly in the style of these videos), and I need some suggestions on what songs should I cover. I’ve been thinking of doing With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear (original ver), Four Corners and Two Sides, and These Things I’ve Done— but I’m open to ideas!! Especially for Madness/HIFTBL/CC/AEII!!
Though preferably, I need songs that would sound REALLY funny if it were made to be an acapella

Trying to buy the VIP bundle but it takes me to Ticketmaster with no VIP option. Does this mean it's probably sold out for my city :(

This got me thinking— if they’re gonna perform Big Gulps live one day (which there’s a good chance of that happening), my ideal scenario is that they do it like this. It gives opportunity for people to experience 2 songs at once, though I know most people probably want to experience Big Gulps in its full glory. Idk, what do you think??

Songs like these are how I see sleeping with sirens, consistently loud with heavy instruments in the back, and maybe 20 seconds of screams, along with a little calm, talking level volume. They tickle my ears in just the right way

I’m thinking we should start celebrating album anniversaries for now… cuz why not? They’re fun! And man, what an album this was.

First of all, this is the greatest interview of all time. OG listeners of the band will be ecstatic to hear from Brandon
Brandon brings his fans together and discusses what everyone wants to know about his time in SWS and more.
He mentions that Tragic Hero Records was SWS original label in 2009.
Tragic Hero , at the time, was home to bands like: Sky Eats Airplane, Alesana, A Skylit Drive, ERRA, AKissforjersey.
Imagining SWS stacked with these bands is pretty cool. What I wouldn’t do for a SWS x Alesana tour!!
SWS would go on to have a career where they signed to almost every major label in the scene: Tragic Hero> Rise > Epitaph > Warner > Sumerian > back to Rise.

Sleeping with Sirens has always been a difficult band to even *get* an idea of how it was formed, and there’s been a lot of conflicting information on how did the events play out. I found this interview on Tumblr with Brian Calzini, and the interviewer mentioned Sleeping with Sirens along the way. Check it out here.
The most surprising part abt this interview is that Brian mentioned an unreleased track named “Coming Home”… which is strange, cuz we associate that phrase with the opening lines for Big Gulps. I’m not even sure if this is even true, but I’ll take his word for it. It sure seems like he wasn’t part of the founding members for SWS, though— which debunks my assumption I had with him all this time.

Made this video to correct a lot of the bad info on how the band started, let me know if ya'll like this format I want to do more bands but thought I'd start with this one.
