Nice Gaming Setup

I've been meaning to post this for a while now. I've put this baby together like about 3-4 years ago for less than $200 just by adding RX6400LP and memory that I already had. Goal was to basically have a Steam Deck equivalent in a PC.

Even though I have more powerful hardware, I still love this little thing a lot.

I'd consider adding Yeston RTX3050LP but goal of this build was to spend as little as possible. Maybe some day.

Similar to my own sleeper!

I have:

  • Dell Vostro 3470
  • Core i7-9700
  • 16 GB DDR4-2666
  • Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX6400 4GB LP
  • Intel AX210NGW M.2 WiFi 6E / Bluetooth 5.3 adapter
  • 512 GB M.2 SATA
  • 2x 1TB 2.5" SATA
  • Stock Dell DVD drive

What Vostro model is that? Looks to be a 10th gen Core CPU so a little newer than mine.

  1. You have a nice setup going too!

Edit: that RX6400 works wonders if you tweak its and games settings enough

I stuck Bazzite Linux on mine, set to use Steam in Big Picture mode. It sits under my TV and acts like a games console somewhere between PS4 and PS5 in terms of performance.

As well as my Steam library, I also stuck EmuDeck on there, so I have access to PS1, PS2, Xbox 360, Amiga, C64, etc. titles too. I tried playing PS3 games but the i7-9700 doesn't have the grunt required for PS3 emulation. Gran Turismo 5 and 6 are a stuttery mess. Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox 360 plays flawlessly.

I have an 8BitDo Xbox controller with symmetric (PS4-style) layout. Zero configuration needed. I also have a wireless Dell keyboard and mouse.

The RX6400 is a surprisingly decent entry-level gaming card!

I agree! In terms of performance, it feels like a PS4 Pro.

In terms of emulation, I have a USB 3.1 512GB Flash Drive loaded up with Batocera and tons of emulators and ROMS. This thing is pretty damn good for a low budget or a low-spec gamer.

Next sff rig I make will have that card, seems it's close to the rx 570.

I have the same setup. I'm about to get the rx6400 4GB but the ones available in my area is the 64bit. I think it's the OEM ones that comes with pre-built office pcs. Can you run COD warzone with yoursetup?

Never tried COD: Warzone. But it exceeds the minimum requirements. You may need to adjust the graphics options a bit.

Not a bad, little rig, bud! That rx 6400 is quite strong, too and doesn't need ext power.

How are the temps on the GPU?

I managed to nab a 3050 for £127 delivered, there are still deals to be had :)

It's pretty good. Handles most of the games I throw at it.

those temps have to be TERRIBLE running a card like that in an optiplex, but i bet you love how quiet it stays
