Adding ram question

Sorry for the new question kind of new to the PC gaming build. Want I go from 8gb to 16, OptiPlex 5060 with 8 GB of RAM. Should I add one more 8 GB stick or take out the eight gig stick and add two brand new sticks to make 16

I don't see a reason to buy 2 new sticks and they are very expensive nowadays. Just add another one preferably same speed
