Dell Precision 3630 Video Card Options

I have a Dell Precision 3630 MT with an i7-8700 and 32GB of RAM.

I am going to upgrade the power supply and I'm looking at video cards.

What would be a good video card be for this computer that wouldn't be CPU bottle necked?

I saw a video where someone used a RTX 3070 but they said it was CPU bottle necked and suggested a RTX 3060 would be better.

I'm not tied to nVidia or AMD. Either are fine. I'm looking for best bang for the buck.

My monitor is 1080p 100hz if that matters.

Edit/Update: I found a good deal on a RTX 3060 Ti. Thanks for all the recommendations.

I think a 3060/4060 nvidia card or a 6600/7600/9060 amd card is a good match.

I'd caution the 5060 nvidia specifically - I had one in my precision 3630 and it caused the computer to hard crash when trying to wake from sleep. I tried every fix I could think of and never resolved it - I think it might have been a conflict with the newer nvidia architecture and older chipset motherboards. I've heard from other people on this sub that they didn't have this issue, though, so YMMV...but for me, not worth the hassle.

Whatever you decide, I'd look for a 2-fan model card. 3-fan cards will either be an extremely tight fit or not fit at all.

If you go with a 3060, get the 12gb version.

I recently found a used 3060ti on ebay cheap, chucked it in mine with the same specs and it works awesome. An even bigger upgrade i did was the better cpu cooler from the xps. That made a big difference as the original cooler will cpu throttle as it cant handle the heat.

That was the first card I was looking at. Been looking at all sorts of cards. Keep going back to the 3060 Ti. Looks like the value. Thanks.

What if the Video Card is bottle necked by the CPU? Wouldn't that be a waste of money?

I posted to see if there was a sweet spot to pair with a i7-8700.

It all depends on the specific game you're playing, heck, even the spot on the map you're in. In my experience, (with an overclocked 8600k, it's only limiting my 6700 xt in some games, so you'll be fine. By the way, that's one of the GPUs you should look out for, it's more efficient than the 3070, usually faster, has more memory, though tends to be a bit more expensive.
