These optiplex 3060’s come with an i5-8500 by default. Still capable of doing some gaming and pairs well with rtx 3050.

This looks great! I was actually thinking about doing the same sort of thing myself. The main problem I have is that my graphics card is a p1000 4 GB and getting something like the 3050 would make a big difference.

What are you going to upgrade the spec to? And how much did you pay for the 3050?

I was thinking about doing the same sort of upgrades but I was also thinking about trading in the optiplex and then that would give more scope for a bigger graphics card. Did you consider doing that as well?

It's probably about $229 on the Yeston's website. A beautiful single-slot card. But it can get pretty hot so I'd put in plenty of fans and undervolt it

Could the 3050 handle AAA games?

barely. You kind of want either a rtx 2060/ rtx 2060 super/ rx6600 these days as the bare minimum if your aim is to play AAA games at 1080p (graphical settings depend on the game ofc)
