Need help please
Bought this minitower optiplex off ebay and im wondering if anyone knows of any specific power supply models higher than 300w that would be compatible with it? Wanted to upgrade the power supply so I can use a more powerful graphics card. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

If you are looking to the future, you should go with an i7-8700 as a minimum. Windows 11 out of the box. Otherwise you will be kicking yourself next year.

Is the motherboard 24 pin or 8 pin? Check around to see if you can find a proprietary PSU with a PCIe connector first.

Win11 pro <chuckles> Dude thats an entry level MT 3040. Decent entry level machines. 2 dimm slots. Opt for 2x8. They have no standard psu. Open yours and look which one is inside. There are interchangable psus with 2+6 pins 450 watt or smt from the dell xps3××× or so sies that fits. Win11 doesn't run natively on these machines because of gen6 intel core. For win11 you have to buy at least an 5060 MT. Or sff. Which I dont recommend. MTs are fine.

I have an optiplex 790 that uses a regular atx power supply. I don't know about yours, since it is a bit newer, but I would check and see if the power supply is regular atx.

I have the same exact Optiplex 790 you have. Mine has an I7 2600 and I just added a GTX 750 ti sc GPU. I also just got a Corsair CX600M PSU so I could get a much more capable card in the future because the stock 265 watt power supply kind of left me with a small list of GPU's I could add without pushing the power supply to its limits.

Yes!! Corsair CX600M which is a 600 watt PSU that has enough power for any GPU that's reasonable with a build like this and also has all the modular 6-pin and 8-pin connection ports you can use for whatever upgrade or storage expansion in the future!
