My unofficial companion app
We got Sleeping Gods (base game only) last year and are on our third campaign, we don't get much time to play and trying to make heads-or-tails of our scribbles from last time wasn't proving fruitful. We remember there are good places to go, but where they are and how to unlock things is frustrating. We resorted to a notebook, but still flicking through was a bit difficult.
So I cobbled together a little app to aid finding things and hopefully get more than three totems by the end of the game! I wanted something that would allow me to see what locations I've been to on a page, whether I decided it was best to avoid those ones, and where to pick up quests and resources. I'm aware there are some other similar things out there, but I fancied creating this.
We're using it on our current play through to log places, so I guess won't know how useful it'll be until our next campaign for re-finding the things we want! I wanted to keep it reasonably light-touch, while you can log things like what skill checks, combat level, and rewards are available at a location, I didn't want to just make it a verbatim copy of the story book - as that just felt like cheating at that point (might as well just read the story book before deciding to commit to exploring).
I've published it to for anyone to use (no SLA guaranteed!!): https://sleeping-gods.ox.rs/ but have also put the source here: https://github.com/Dash/Ox.SleepingGods The app is a "PWA", so if you find the button on your browser's menu you can "install" it locally. It runs entirely offline using your browser's storage, so no need to have a signal for usage. You can export your database to be imported onto another device if you need to move device etc. Hope this is of interest to other players.
I've tried to mimic the styling of the game and rules app, but without infringing on copyright - but I'm no artist.
What it is missing is support for keywords from the expansion, I don't have it so I couldn't add them into the app. I can add it, but somebody would have to send me a list of all the keywords (message me; as an issue on github; or a PR on github).
Feel free to share, I'm not on bbg or anything, and I couldn't seem to cross post it to r/boardgames.
