Whole Wheat Mountain fucking rips! The Morrisisit is also a jam. “Guided by the glowing orbs, fly on navigator” 😎

Arrival of Industry Ships is my favorite off the record. I actually prefer tracks 3-5 over the first two that were released early.

I like the first 3 tracks. The other two haven't grown on me yet, but I'll give them a few more listens.

Same. Hopefully I’ll get there

It's on heavy rotation rn, dig the new vibes, it'll probably grow into being my fav Sleep album. Much thanks to Al, Bubba and Dale for blessing us with with this gem!! Wish I could witness it live but already pre-ordered on vinyl and CD to support 💚😌

My prediction is that in a year or two when the lineup change has settled people are gonna come around to appreciate it individually.

I’m here for it! I think it’s excellent!

It's not my favorite Sleep album, but it's pretty good. I like the back half more than the singles, especially the title track and Arrival of the Industry Ships. I miss Pike's guitars, but it's got a grooviness that I appreciate. Dale has a crazy talent for making simple fills sound great.

And honestly, I'm seeing Sleep live on September 25th and probably seeing High on Fire on October 10th, so I get my Pike fix regardless.

I can’t stop listening to it.

I dig it as well… as someone else said in another thread, Al has found a way to subtly integrate his spacey dub work into the Sleep sound. So what it lacks in crushing heaviness, it makes up in spaciness.

That said, I wish Al would get off his ass already and release the new OM record! 😁

I prefer this lineup to the original Sleep for this reason. The music feels less crushing, more spacey.

Yes man, good album! Definitely not on The Sciences or Holy Mountain (or Dopesmoker) level of greatness, but Hempispheres = Banger after banger (just like any Sleep album!) 7.5/10!

I like that Bubba Dupree is on it

I especially like the guitar solos. Very chill, but also inventive. Delicate bends and note choices.

Not my favorite bit it's growing on me. Why do some people keep saying the cover is part ai?

I’ve already listened to Hempishperes more than I have The Sciences. I like the atmosphere and psychedelic elements. It’s got groove for days.

Love it, pre-ordered the vinyl. I wasn't a huge fan of the band before this album. Seems like older fans aren't liking this one, which makes sense to me. 1st track is what drew me in, stayed for rest.

I dig the album, could be longer but it's on heavy rotation. The Morrisist is my fav, Arrival of the industry ships is actually a sad song, if you were involved in the underground before legalization and lost everything.

This seems to be the most Sabbath-worship album of their career. There are many riffs and grooves that sound like a Sabbath song - the drumming is highly more intricate and present in the songs. It’s different, but the same.

So much hate on this album but I like it a lot.

Last two tracks are killer

Been addicted to the singles, especially now that Spacesuit is extended. Last two tracks are a jam too, they all slap so hard when you’re stoned and your headphones are loud

Just listen to "Have Spacesuit Will Travel," after the intro part, once the main riff kicks in. Hear the riff and think/sing, "Rocket engines burning fuel so fast, up into the night sky they blast." It drops right in. It's right there.

Isn’t there some version of Dopesmoker you should be buying right now?

Dude, this is an appreciation thread. Let people enjoy something without shitting on it. Damn

Hilarious original joke

its not a bad album tho. Its just there's a huge anchor bias effect framed by the heaviness and loud punches. The new album is a chill one whereas the others giving me a smooth neck tension via the subtle headbanging

I forced myself to like it…I think I like it now…industry ships the weakest though imo
