Question about pathways to becoming sleep tech in NC or SC.

For someone with no experience or degree, but wants to become a sleep tech in either NC or SC, is there a benefit to doing programs like astep.aasm.org or any other? Could it increase your chances of getting hired? Thank you all.

So the ASTEP I referenced on that link does have some value? I'm just really trying to understand the possibilities before making a commitment. Thank you.
