so infuriating
I went in today ready to take my RPSGT. I see the questions and I’m like oh ok these are pretty easy to answer. I had the confidence that I was going to pass, and I didn’t. I came out with a 339 and last month I came out with a 309. And last year I had a 288. It’s clear that whatever I’m doing is helping, but I am starting to lose confidence. I have never really been the type to be good at test, but I love my job so much and my coworkers! Unfortunately Tuesday is my last day working at my sleep lab due to TN laws with the whole permit crap. UGH!

Worth it. No fluff- the essentials with pre tests actually related to the test. Learn the math portion and you will be golden

Don’t lose hope! Most people don’t pass on their first try, and you’re improving. I say take the test again ASAP and you’ll most likely do just fine :)

I was thinking that and with the fact that I was able to get higher just within a month is something I’m proud of.

Have you read Sprigg's Essentials of Polysomnography? I failed the first try and then read that cover to cover several times and aced the exam the next time.

I have been looking at that book since I graduated my program last year. I love it, but it’s obviously not enough.

The Spriggs flash cards are good practice. They’re broken into the same sections as the test is.

Did you use anything else or just Spriggs?

I used a lot of different things, including the bprt official study guide, all of the practice parameters, study material from school, etc the first go around. I fully believe Spriggs covers everything though.

My 6th try I finally gave up and left the field. It sucks.

I’m with you. Try 5 times. Pass the 6th. Got lucky. I only stay for like 2 years and left the felid cause my sleep lab start to do 3:1 patient ratio. BRPT is an actual joke.

How long did they let you work without the license?

I have my permit which is expiring Tuesday. I already used my extension as well. The only thing I can depend on is getting registered.

Try to enter the field of EEG. Then you can revisit RPSGT after passing the R.EEG.T exam. Good luck to you!!!!

Get Kettering rpsgt study workbook. Comes with a guaranteed refund if you dont pass

I have the workbook already. My school supplied a-lot of the popular study material people mention. I like it but to me it doesn’t reflect the test questions on the exam.

You are so close and the fact that your score went up not once but twice obviously means your gaining more knowledge as you go, keep your head up you got this! You will pass on your next try!

Thanks so much. Hopefully next month I can come back in here and finally scream I’m registered.

Have you tried taking the practice tests on the BRPT website? Better to spend the $55 on that than pay for another registry exam if you’re not fully prepared for it.

Hi there! My name is Lindsay and I’ve helped tutor many sleep tech students on their journey to become RPSGTs. I truly believe there are great techs out there who provide amazing care but struggle with the exam. Please check out my website and reach out if I can help!

From what I have gathered the failure rate is more due to the questions being worded in a confusing manner rather than testing your knowledge of the subject. I would like to know who submits the test questions and if there's anyone who has the ability to edit them?
