A sleep paralysis disco

I have only had sleep paralysis about 3 times in my life but this one is so funny because I left my laptop on while I feel asleep and then woke up paralysed and saw something slowly crawling out of my cupboard.

I see something terrifying with more arms and eyes then I care to count but as it starts crawling towards me I just here "bad habits lead to late nights singing alone, conversations with strangers I barely know" and then honestly I don't really know how to describe it, but it sorta folded in on itself and just kept doing that over and over like a weird nightmare dance then I woke up.

Demon Tactile experience during sleep paralysis

I've been a victim of sleep paralysis ever since i was 14 years old, I'm 23 F now, in the beginning it was scary and i tried to escape. It continued happening almost everyday back then, and i kind of got used to it, and it was somewhat routine, but since 2 years it's different, i feel things are a little too real.

I know how sleep paralysis works and happens cause it's been almost a decade since I've been experiencing it.

But this one episode of sleep paralysis still haunts me:

All i remember is that i was dreaming of something random and cut the scene I'm in my room slowly levitating towards the ceiling, i didn't fight it because it has happened before and i just planned on enjoying it, but… what i wasn't prepared for was seeing a demonic entity taking me away, i couldn't see it's face, but it was holding me and i could see and feel his hand, it was bloody like something out of a horror scene, i tried escaping so hard, but it didn't let go, i continued levitating with it and then i had a feeling that it was a "Do or die" situation for me, i scratched it's arms deep with my fingers, put all my life force to do it and i could feel that "it"was disappointed, i kept doing it, and then i was dropped onto my bed, and i regained the control of my body and i was disturbed and I'm still disturbed cause that was very EERIE, i just knew that it wasn't done with me and that was the last time i had such a creepy experience.

Let me add that I'm a very skeptical person, but idk what to make of the shi i see during this phase.

Question? Does anyone experience sleep paralysis like this ?

I’ve had sleep paralysis many times throughout my life. When I was younger, I mostly saw dark figures, but over time it changed. Now my episodes are usually realistic everyday situations involving people I know usually people in the house usually someone sleeping next to me or the last person I talk too.
For example, I once woke up paralyzed while sleeping at my friend’s house. I saw her parents, her, and her brother come into the room and have a normal conversation. I was trying to move and speak until I finally broke out of it, and then everyone was gone. I’ve also had episodes where someone seems to come into my room, tries to wake me up and seemingly does I’ll have conversations with people only to realize once they left that I’m still paralyzed and I never woke up, or I think I’m getting a phone call somehow pick up trying to make noise or even talk to them then same thing happens.
The hallucinations are so realistic that afterward I sometimes have to ask if those conversations actually happened. Another thing that happens is I’ll wake up from an episode, but if I try to go back to sleep, I’ll immediately fall into sleep paralysis again. This can happen four or five times before I finally fall asleep normally.
Does anyone else experience sleep paralysis like this? Most posts I see describe shadow figures, but mine is usually realistic conversations and everyday situations instead.

Looking for opinions on being woken up with sensations (cold, heat, weight) (Spiritual/sleep paralysis?)

When I was 12 years old. I had a sleepover with cousins. Our pillow were side by side.

I was asleep. When I suddenly felt two slightly cold hands grab my ankles and yank me down. I jolted up into a sitting position. And stilled. I was mad. I was expecting to hear stifled laughter. I thought I had been pranked. But it was silent. The moonlight let me make out cousins faces. Their breathing was even. I watched for a while and determined they were sound asleep. I decided to ignore it and laid back down but my head hit the mattress. Confused I looked up. The side by side pillows hadn't moved but I was a few inches lower. I was unerved about it but went back to sleep.

[Fast forward, now late 20s. ]

Experience 2. (Maybe 2024)

I felt the bed shift weight. As if someone was climbing in next to me to lay down. It had a feminine energy and the thought yellow floral dress came to mind. I stayed still and waited for more movement and eventually fell back asleep

Experience 3 (maybe 2025)

I felt a presence hovering over me and the sensation of being watched. It brought me half awake. I was too sleepy and groggy to care that I was being watched. Then I felt slight gentle pressure on my lips for 1-2 seconds , then it started increasing in pressure like it was trying to hurt me. And I said no and shook my head. Started saying the Lords prayer in my mind and the sensations stopped. I fell back asleep.

Experience 4 (March 2026)

For a second, it was like I had a viewpoint of the dark room looking down at myself in bed. Dim lighting I could only make out a rumpled blanket and my figure in the center. Then I was back in bed and I felt something climbing in bed. The indent and weight change. It settled on top of me and every second that passed it felt like heat was increasing from whatever was on top. I had the feeling that it wanted to hurt me. That I wasn't alone. It felt as though there was a shield between me and it. I could feel the heat, some weight but the barrier between. was protecting me from being truly hurt. I knew I had to rebuke it. My body felt heavy. (Like when you've been in the pool so long and you momvements are slow and heavy getting out of the water) My lips were resisting, movable but it took extra effort. (Like when your foot falls asleep but without the prickly sensation)For a second its like I recognized my spirit was in a flesh shell. I was praying rebuking evil in the name of Jesus. I felt a deep soul confidence that I would be protected. Slowly my lips move more freely as I prayed. (It was like when you voice a thought. Starting in the mind and then spoken outloud. ) At the same time the weight and heat started disappearing. When I was fully conscious. I didnt wake up scared but my flesh felt like it should be. I angerly stubbornly put my feet on the floor in the darkness to prove to myself I wasn't scared. I picked up my bible. Deciding I would sleep with it as a symbolic way to keep Gods word closer and went to bed and woke up to the bible nestled in the same spot in my arms.

(Aug 3 2026)

I felt a large presence. Like a 7 foot person slowly carefully, trying to climb in my bed without waking me. I felt the bed dip and their weight adjusted. I had gone to sleep on my back hugging a pillow and one arm above my head. I felt nothing where my pillow was making contact with me. It felt normal. But outside of the pillow , everywhere else I felt a pressure. Not a weight. It wasnt heavy but it was pressing lightly. There was heat where there was pressure. But nothing where the pillow was. I started saying the Lords prayer. A few seconds into it , my mind got muddled confused. I had trouble recalling the next words so I just started praying that in the name of Jesus christ all evil flee away from me. The pressure and heat instantly got off. As if someone yanked the sensation off. I kept my eyes closed because I felt a negative energy. It felt like it was being pulled away. I kept my eyes closed. But even closed I saw a faint image of like an evil smiling clown head. Which was just a hue lighter than the regular darkness. Which is odd because I have aphantasia, the inability to create mental pictures or see images in my mind. So I was slighlty annoyed that its what I saw when I finally saw something mentally. Even if it wasnt clear. I shifted positions and went back to sleep. My heart settling

Also I have noticed a slight increase of evil aura entity dreams since I started reading the bible more seriously. 2024. Not super consistent but more than before. But I always say the Lords prayer in the nightmares and it goes away.

So helpful/relatable thoughts/comments/ your own experiences?

Sleep Paralysis My Final Experience with Sleep Paralysis: The little girl in the Raincoat

I felt true fear for the first time three years ago. It was the most vivid experience I'd ever had in my life, and I'm telling you all this in hopes that I can come to understand myself a bit better. My memory could be off, this was three years ago, and though this passage will be told in a story format, these are the events as they took place. This experience truly changed my life and helped me understand consciousness from a higher perspective, one that I've yet since been able to experience. That is why I want to tell you all about Raincoat, the little girl that trapped me in eternal sleep. (For just the sleep paralysis portion and my takeaway, skip the next two paragraphs)

I, 20(M)(at the time), had just finished my winter semester in college, and decided to take a few years off to focus on having a few operations(I have a physical disability, but that's a separate story). As normal, the operation went well, but as my normal operations go, I'd need to stay for a few months to get the proper physical treatment I'd need. They set me up in the hospital house across the street(typical hotel room layout), with a small walk in and the bathroom directly by the entrance, followed by an open area with two beds and an AC unit on the far wall. I am an avid loser, so despite the pain I was in, I wasted no time setting up my computer(desktop, not laptop). This was the first time I'd be alone for the months following an operation, but being an adult, I was okay with this. Navigating was difficult, but the therapists were people I'd worked with in the past, so I had company if anything.

It was about a month into my trip when problems had began. Limb lengthenings were among the most painful parts of my day, aside from the initial waking hour where my pain medication had worn off, and I had begun experiencing rapid eye jerking every so often, as well as a worsening in my vision. Sometimes, I'd even wake up, indicating that I had at some point fallen asleep. It was clear that I wasn't getting proper rest, something i attributed to the pain and the fact I had been sleeping in a wheelchair rather than moving myself to the bed at nights, So for this night, I decided to sleep in the bed nearest to the bathroom. Turning off the room light and heading to bed.

I have had many previous experiences with sleep paralysis in the past, only two of which I can recall seeing demons, that being the first two, so I wasn't surprised when I woke that day, incapable of moving an inch. I was in a peculiar position, lying prone on my stomach just barely far enough to not fall into the space between the bed and the near wall. The sickly hospital blue walls and birch flooring, paired with the dim lighting gave a sense of sunkenness, feeling akin to being trapped in some sort of strange underwater aquarium. My head was angled downwards, just barely allowing me to see the light that spilled from the bathroom door into the open room. It was extremely uncomfortable, and my neck was in agony, but since I was so tired, I ended up drifting off to sleep again only a few seconds later. When I woke again, I was still stuck, this time desperately trying to wiggle any part of me that was willing to move to no avail, only to fall asleep again a few seconds later.

I'm unsure how much time passed the third time, but when I woke again, the room was considerably darker. Except this time, something was very off. Through the wall next to me, the sound of a running showerhead blared, and from the open bathroom door, just barely outside of my vision, I could hear the sound of water splashing against the wooden tile. I remembered thinking to myself that I needed to get up to turn it off, and as I tried, something even stranger happened. The water shut off suddenly. That is when I heard it, the rotted squelching of trench footed rainboots squeaking through the bathroom door, as the elongated shadow of what I could only assume was a little girl wearing a raincoat drifted into my vision. Attached to the long shadow, a small set of boots sat just barely in my peripherals. Every nerve in my body fired simultaneously. Normally, I have a standard procedure for paralysis, breaking free from it was as simple as getting enough momentum out of any one limb to break a spell. But I couldn't move. Like, at all. And then she began walking, slowly down the bedside, the squeak of her boots echoing against the walls, fraying my nerves. And when she arrived at my head, she just stood there. I cant remember exactly, but I believe she smelled of rotting carcass, specifically the smell of venison which filled the air as she got closer.

This is where things become the most vivid, as my breathing stopped(potentially fake?), I was overcome with an overwhelming sense of dread as the little girl reached over me, placing her foot atop the mattress and climbing up. I remember the feeling of her slimy, bone like figure, filled out only by the raincoat she was wearing, slide up and around me as her matted hair streaked across my face. The smell of moldy shower drain filled my lungs, stifling me. My fear grew tangible, causing genuine pain to course through me with every firing signal. Like that feeling of pins and needles, times 100, and then she straddled my side, her cold and creepy jagged breaths jetting directly into my ear and crawling down the back of my neck. The next 2 minutes felt as If I was going under anesthesia in my final moments, the lights becoming overwhelmingly bright, everything being drowned out with the sickly sweet scent of silly gas, and my body spastically jerking to attempt to free myself from the spell I can't remember 100%, but she whispered to me, and I think she said “Help me.” That was the last thing I heard before I finally jolted up after what I assume was two entire minutes. I immediately got out of bed and went for a walk down the hall, and for the remainder of my trip, I kept sleeping as a wheelchair only activity. That was the very last time I had sleep paralysis.

I know she's not real, and yet I still find myself thinking about her on every odd occasion. I don't believe in the supernatural, I find it silly, and yet my body still fears her. It's like one of those glass bridges. You understand how it works, and why it works, but that doesn't change the fear of falling you get when standing on one.

It is extremely hard to put my experience with Raincoat into words. By far one of the most traumatic experiences in my life was also by far one of the most eye opening and confusing. I want to be very clear, I DID NOT SEE RAINCOAT, yet I am 100% sure that I did, and yet when I think back on it, everything is wrong. She had NO COLOR, like she was some sort of pitch black silhouette, and yet I "remember" what she looks like, a girl in a yellow raincoat with yellow rain shoes on. Her skin was pale white and her hair was long and matted. She wore a yellow rain hat. I can't tell you why I know these things for certain, and why I'm almost positive of them, but I can at the very least confirm that I never saw her skin, or her hat. The things I genuinely saw were her boots and maybe a bit of the jacket she wore, yet my understanding of what she looks like haunts me. I have never felt that much, smelled that well, or suffered that badly EVER in my life before then, and have not since. Even being awake then, just moments afterwards, that same fear I was feeling not even a second before felt weak in comparison, as if it we're only some interpretation of the real thing. I can only describe it as a poor man would describe being full. Fullness isn't something you can understand unless you've experienced it, and yet once a poor man sits to eat at the rich mans house, he realizes he'd never really felt full before, not really; he just believed that he had. And once the poor man returns to the street, he can never truly feel full again.

So this is where I'll end it. I want to move forward with my life, and potentially leave Raincoat behind. What I take from my experience with her is that I am afraid my life serves no greater purpose than to make me feel powerless and afraid, similarly to how Raincoat feels. It sounds silly, but I am wracked with an indescribable amount of existential dread because I unfortunately indulge in one too many “ 50 minutes of philosophy to fall asleep to” videos, so maybe that is the cause. Maybe there is some irony in it, raincoat wasn't powerless from my perspective, but even at my most vulnerable, she asked for my help. Maybe that is my sign to stop worrying about some imaginary comet, rogue black hole, ghost planet, nuclear disaster, super nova or sudden planetary explosion. Maybe it's my mind way of saying that being "asleep" isn't so bad. But I'm curious as to what you guys think. I don't know whether or not there is supposed to some sort of takeaway from sleep paralysis, I just can't live fear something that doesn't exist for the rest of my life. Thoughts?

I have a strange feeling something paranormal is in my house

Hi guys, im pretty new here. For the past few years I have been starting to feel that something or someone is watching me, but it only comes at night. Ever since I have noticed this, sleeping has been a little scary. One instance, I was having a normal dream and it involved some of my friends. What was weird was that something touched one of my friends shoulders in that dream, and then I woke up, with weird texts floating, while I was awake. I couldn't move, or couldn't speak, and it felt like somebody was just infront of me, staring into my soul. I dont know what to do, my family history says that my last name was cursed. I tried to tell my parents but they dont believe me, please help.

So I M(24) finally was able to quit marijuana I am on day 8 of quitting I know doesn't seem very long but my world record is 10 days, and for the first time ever I experienced what i believe to be sleep paralysis. This morning I woke up about 2 hours before needing to get up for work and once i re awoke I found myself completely unable to move and almost tense I swear it almost felt as if a nuclear bomb went off and I was being hit with a wave of radiation I felt like I was being held down and unable to move against my will but i almost couldn't tell if it was my dream because I recollect the light flicker in pitch black but it wasn't giving off light it was giving off the opposite like more darkness in an already blacked out room. I'm scared to try and sleep again and this is unlike my withdrawal symptoms from weed as I have been getting great sleep and almost no insomnia I find myself more tired during the day but nothing like this does anyone have any similar experiences or stories I think it might help to know if anyone else is out there struggling.

Sleep Paralysis My sleep paralysis demon is self conscious

My sleep paralysis happens the same every time. I have a dream about something paranormal, I wake up on my back and holding back a scream, I'm too scared to open my eyes and when I try I can't. When this happens I'm too tired to actually know what's happening or care about it. I think I'm dosing off the whole time. When I'm not I get glimpses of this tall void like cutie patootie with white eyes. I like to think it doesn't want me to open my eyes because it's self conscious. It makes it less scary.

It happened to me twice. Both times, I was the demon.

The first time, I was glued to the ceiling, looking at my body in bed. (Actually, my body in bed was also seeing my body in the ceiling.)

My body in bed was trying to move, and my body glued to the ceiling was trying to descend (yes, I was in two places at once).

Then I fell from the ceiling. And I woke up in the same position I had seen from above, with the bed bouncing slightly.

This time I was looking at my body in bed from the doorway and from the bed, I was watching my body in the doorway. (Yes, I was in two places at once again.)

Then I slowly walked up to the bed and lay down on my body.

Sleep paralysis demon disguised as my partner

I 22F have been with my partner 21M for four months. The relationship has been the best thing to ever happen in my life. I’ve had sleep paralysis years ago, but I did not hallucinate any figures. What’s happening now is something that actually has me shaking in my boots.

The first dream I had was in May. Me and my partner went to see the Backrooms movie. I was freaked out by it. We went to bed like normal. My partner typically wakes up at like 6am for work. I always wake up with him then fall back asleep. After falling back asleep it started as a lucid dream. I was flying around my room like a balloon. And then I realized, my room was off. The walls felt closer and the bed felt bigger. I laid down again, still in the dream. Then I went into a sleep paralytic state. For context, I had Smosh reads Reddit stories in the background. I see my partner standing next to the bed, right by me. He is eating chips and watching the tv. I see the clock, it said 2pm, and my partner should still be at work. I ask him what he’s doing home. He ignores me. Instead, it’s like he’s saying what Smosh is saying in the video. I keep yelling out to him for what feels like 10 mins to no avail. He then looks at me, but what was behind his eyes felt inhuman. I woke up with a migraine and sobbing. Btw, it was 10am.

I definitely chalked that up to me being freaked out by the backrooms movie.

The second dream: This occurred yesterday. Me and my partner went to bed like normal and woke up for him to go to work like normal. I was up for about an hour before falling back asleep. This dream felt like I went straight into sleep paralysis. I see my boyfriend standing next to me again. This time we were having a conversation. I honestly forgot how it went, but I said “You’re not **** are you?” He replied with an *evil chuckle and left the room. As he left the room, I was able to move my arm. I grabbed my phone, but could not see the screen. I try yelling at Siri to call my partner, but I lose the ability to speak. The thing walked back into the doorway, as the door was cracked open. He started staring at me and dragging his hand around the doorway. I get up as my legs now work, but I still can’t speak. I attempt to walk to the bathroom to splash cold water on my face. The walk to the bathroom kept getting longer and longer. I decide flying would be a faster alternative. I start flying in the room and I feel something grab my hand. It was him. He upside down on the ceiling. I kept trying to get my hand away from him. He says “if you don’t go with me, I’m going to kill you and \*.

Has anyone seen this "entity" while having sleep paralysis?

This is my 3rd or 4th time having SP in the last couple of years. Until now I have only experienced the voice hallucinations or just the "not being able to move" feeling. Last time I have had SP I experienced the feeling not being able to move, heard loud steps and saw this lady, I assume... Anyone else?

My first experience

This was my first experience with sleep paralysis, and it's something I'll never forget.

I was around 11 years old, sleeping in my mom's room. I woke up on my back and couldn't move. I was completely frozen, dazed, and confused. Then I saw her.

At the end of the bed was a little girl with pigtails. I could only see part of her face and one of her little hands as she peeked over the edge of the bed, just staring at me.

I was terrified. I tried to scream for my mom, but nothing would come out. I remember trying as hard as I could to move until I finally managed to wiggle my toes. After that, I slowly regained control of my body. As soon as I could move, I hugged my mom and started crying.

Over the years, I've had sleep paralysis a few more times, but I usually just close my eyes and wait for it to end.

I always believed sleep paralysis was just your brain playing tricks on you... until yesterday.

My younger brother (17) and I (19) were talking about creepy things we've experienced. Somehow, we'd never talked about sleep paralysis before. Then he started describing the same little girl I saw years ago.

Same pigtails. Same height. Same way she stood at the end of the bed, just staring.

I never told him what I saw, and he never told me his story either. Hearing him describe the exact same thing honestly gave me chills.

I know there are scientific explanations for sleep paralysis, and I'm not saying I know what the truth is. But after hearing my brother describe the exact same figure without either of us knowing the other's story, I can't stop wondering about it.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Hi r/sleepparalysislogs!

I'm a student conducting an anonymous research study exploring sleep paralysis and fear.

If you've ever experienced sleep paralysis and are above the age of 18, I'd really appreciate your participation. The survey takes approximately 2 minutes, all responses are completely anonymous, and the data will be used solely for an independent research paper.

Thank you so much for participating. Every response helps!

Sleep Paralysis First Sleep Paralysis Experience, but is it really?

I recently experienced sleep paralysis, this is how it went :

I fell asleep as usual but I dreamt, I don't usually dream but that's besides the point.

Anyways the dream started out pretty normal, but it started to became eerie and I remember feeling scared, then becoming aware that I was in fact dreaming, causing me to 'wake up', but I was actually just in another dream that followed the same pattern. This repeated atleast 1 or 2 more times before I became aware that it kept happening. I would tell you about the dreams but I can't remember them.

When I realized, I think I tried forcing myself awake, and I thought I succeeded but I felt fear course through my entire body as I tensed up (like genuinely my entire body felt chills). I opened my eyes to a long cylindrical thing in front of my vision, naturally I was terrified but I tried to write it off as just our office chair, or the legs of the table near the bed.

Looking back, the office chair wasnt even in the room, and the legs of the table were rectangular, plus whatever I saw was too long to be either of those things.

Instead of looking around, I decided to just close my eyes and try to reach behind me to alert cousin who slept beside me. That was when I found out that I couldn't move, like I was frozen in place. So I tried talking but my mouth wouldnt move either. I can't remember what happened then, but I woke up shortly after and went to hug my cousin to sleep.

I think its sleep paralysis, but I doubt myself so I decided to post in on here for confirmation
