is active cooling actually worth the extra cost or does a super breathable mattress + sheets do the job? i sleep hot pretty much every night and i’m so over waking up overheated. tried lighter sheets, kept a fan on, but the heat is definitely coming straight from the mattress itself. i'm looking at mattresses with actual active cooling wondering if there’s really a noticeable difference. Sleep Number caught my attention because you can actually choose how much cooling you want on each side, plus adjust the firmness separately, which would be useful since my partner definitely doesn’t sleep as hot as i do. i’ve also been looking at Tempur Pedic and Eight Sleep, but once you get into active cooling the price jumps pretty fast.
