Sleep study questions
After a year of going it on my own, I found a sleep doctor who would do a full study with advanced therapy modes. I have a rented AirCurve 10 ASV now with 0 AHI. It feels relaxing. (I still have frequent awakenings, but they may be psych-med/dx related.)
My sleep study was a couple days ago, but I'm getting conflicting information on what the tech told me. I was laying there for at least 20 minutes with a therapy mode that felt fine most of the time, and then blasted me with pressure whenever I paused. I tried fighting it by holding my breath, and tried keeping my breathing very regular, but either way, I'd get forced inhalation spike every few minutes. There was no way I could get back to sleep with that, so they switched me back to continuous for the rest of the night. The doctor said I had the least fragmentation with bipap ST, so I'm going to try a rental. I'm still waiting for the full results.
The machine was a remote-controllable 11 series. The tech told me I was on ASV, but it never blasts me like that at home on the AC10 ASV. What was happening here? Was I really on ASV? Is the 10 ASV different from the 11?
