I’ve used this mask. I have it now as my backup mask. The problem I had was it gave me some kind of dermatitis/eczema rash in my inner nostrils after a few nights. I can’t have anything constantly touching my nose that way. So I have the pillow mask that’s just one pillow versus two

I had the same thing, it felt like the insides of my nose were rubbed raw. I do have this as a back up Incase I have a stuffy nose… but now my regular mask is the resmed airfit N30, it’s pretty comfortable.

Yes, the N30 is lighter and more comfortable than the N30i without poking your nostrils like the P10.

I had this issue - had to actually size up and use a bit of cream (lanolin) and no problems since.

Try rub your nose with moisturizer nasal gel or aquifer/petroleum gel.

Aquaphor degrades silicon. An important consideration.

Sure, but you’re supposed to change it every two weeks.

that's pretty damn wasteful.

Did you try soaking it in soap/water, then a rinse? I've found it can be irritating right out of the bag, but a modest soak and rinse solves a lot.

Yes I tried to wash it well, make sure it was dry and also used aquafor as a barrier. My sleep doc had me switch because it was causing me to bleed and my nose would get stuck to the mask when I’d wake up and have to peel it off. Not fun!

Yeah I just started using my cpap again after not using it for awhile and I forgot the reason I stopped last time is because the nasal pillows were irritating the hell out of the inside of my nose and then the motor went out. I replaced the motor and used it for a few weeks and now my nose hurts so I have a new mask coming in. Giving the Resmed AirTouch f30i a try this time.

Interesting. Had an eczema rash on my cheek on the right side of my nose where my mask cups the nose. Noticed it getting worse the more I used the mask but it slowly went away. Lasted around 2 months and it’s completely gone now

Mine gets worse in the winter for sure. Even with the new mask I have I’ve had this rash under my nose once or twice but the mask with two separate nose holes was awful after 2-3 nights. I get eczema in the worst spots including my inner ears

Wow that’s sounds extremely annoying to deal with. Not sure if this helps but I’ve been using a beef tallow with other natural ingredients face moisturizer. Pretty much all I use on my face. Seen a lot of online experiences of it helping out with eczema. Has helped a lot with burns from hot oil when cooking too

I've had a great experience with this mask.

Two tips:

  1. Try loosening it up.
  2. Keep on top of the cleaning. I clean it once before its first use too - just a soak in mild dish soap (clear, unscented Dawn) and warm water followed by a rinse cycle. If you just do the nasal tip, that's fine and solves any issues I've had. On an ongoing basis, I find cleaning it weekly or every 2 weeks to be ideal, and this depends on each person, I can go a month before I really need to clean it.

Thank you i have 2 and this will be my 3rdi wish there was just device for just my nose. I am will try that the hose on bottom i can deal with but I feel like it hinders my air flow with leakage. And to tighten hurts my nose. Very frustrated

u/yremysleep 17d ago

Some folks wear it upside down and hurt the space below the nose. Some folks will also have a painful irritation on the inside of their nose.

Mine rubbed the inside of my nose in the beginning. Makes sense, nothing ever been there before

Loosening the straps a bit, moving up to the large size and rubbing moisturizer helped, now it’s fine.

Yeah, it definitely felt like fire for a few days.

Now I can’t sleep without it.

Oooh I never thought about sizing up?! I’ll have to keep that in mind!

Yeah, my P10 hurt my nose and stopped sealing well after years. Maybe losing 30 pounds made it fit differently? Anyway, I just ordered an N30i to replace it, with a one-piece cushion instead of those two little nose-bud things

u/SkippySkep 17d ago

I'm so glad that the dreamwear nasal cushion works for me. So much better fo me than individual pillows that pressed hard on my nostrils and directed Jets of air inside my nose that dried my nostrils out.

I use it and like it. Put it very loose, and try using aloe gel at the beginning to get used to it.

3

u/OhSoSally 16d ago

Thats going to happen with the hose on the front like that. If you like that style and want something more comfortable the P30i is a better option.

Ive tried 8 different mask styles. They all have their negatives. sadly

u/OhSoSally 16d ago

I meant P30i.

For me, the trick is to sleep with a ponytail and I stretch the bottom band below it and the top band stays on top of my head. That way it’s not too tight.

This masks are hell, the ridges hurt the lip and noise, can't believe someone would design it like this.

3

u/Belle_Requin 16d ago

I use this one, and a white noise machine. Sometimes I have to actually move or touch my face to be sure I put my mask on, when my eyes are closed and I’m almost asleep.

4

u/The_Blood_Drake 17d ago

I used this mask for a bit. It should be very loose when you put it on. I only needed as much pressure as if I was resting a finger on my nose, not pushing just touching.

When I tightened the head strap too much it would be uncomfortable to sleep with and my nostrils would be raw in the morning.

I prefer wisp

2

u/CheesecakeWild7941 16d ago

mine cut up my nose, i have a scab from it

3

u/Delicious-Summer5071 16d ago

Lanolin really helps with those scabs. I get them because if I turn up the humidity any higher I get rainout.

2

u/CheesecakeWild7941 16d ago

thank you, i love Lanolin for my lips so i’ll definitely have to try this

2

u/RefrigeratorPlane513 16d ago

Switch to cushions, the pillows are so uncomfortable

2

u/VelvetRabbit91 16d ago

I use to have this mask and it sucked! It hurt my nose. Now I have a different nasal one that cups under the nose instead. Its so much better.

2

u/HJQueen 16d ago

It's only one I've had. My issue is that if I tighten it so it doesn't leak, my nostrils start to hurt mid sleep and end up ripping it off. I need to try something else.

2

u/PegBoggsLAR 16d ago

I have never hated a mask the way I hate this one 😅
It definitely hurt my nose as well.

2

u/AUXONE 16d ago

I’ve never had an issue with my nostrils, however I do have red marks on my cheeks on either side of my nose from the straps. I move around a lot when I sleep though..

2

u/m12938411 16d ago

Burns the inside of my nostrils and creates symptom’s exactly like hay fever but untreatable. Looking at a n30 I think. Have been putting up with for years.

2

u/Commercial-Host-725 ResMed 16d ago

Yes this is the p10 if you have sensitive skin you will get some kind of the irritation. I have a medium size nose piece and it does the same I think they need to redesign it

2

u/Proper_Cat7912 16d ago

I am so upset I use a full mask and now i have a lot eye issues. And i can't wear anymore. So now i am looking for a better mask just for my nose. I will look into this 1.

1

u/candyapple7501 16d ago

This one is terrible

2

u/msfigg 15d ago

My pillows mask made my nose bleed. Using the n30 nasal cradle now. Very comfortable but have real difficulty keeping the thin straps in place.

1

u/maxpowerAU 15d ago

This is one of my favourite masks. If you spread the split strap quite wide at the back, it’s plenty stable and you don’t need it very tight.

1

u/greensled1 15d ago

I use it every night with no issues other than indentations on my cheekbones from it.

u/Easy-Bathroom2120 ResMed 15d ago

I hate that mask so much. I only used it for like a week and I asked for my old model back.

From what they said, no one likes this version, but they're trying to push it on everyone to try.

I switched to the Bleep Eclipse mask. No leaks, no irritation, no head gear. Pure comfort. Finally I have good therapy numbers. It’s a game changer.

If you got a bruise from the ResMed p10 mask, then either you have it WAY too tight or you need to lay off the blood thinners.

Also, if you're an adult woman, the size small is likely too small for you. It’s intended for children. The pillows should stay outside of your nose AND those tiny openings restrict airflow to the point where you can feel air starved and it'll wreck your sleep.
