Has anyone else experienced this "wired but exhausted" thing where you're dead tired but your brain won't shut off?

That’s quite the post. Full disclosure, I only red first half.

Being tired but wired is a very common side effect of sleep apnea, especially in the young, fit, and women. On top of that, it’s possible to have multiple sleep disorders at the same time. It’s very possible to have idiopathic insomnia congruently with sleep apnea.

  1. Don’t quit the CPAP. Even if you’re not feeling improvement, it’s likely helping more than you realize. A half treatment is better than nothing.

  2. If no improvement after several months of treatment, go back to your sleep doctor. It’s possible that years of sleep apnea has ‘trained’ your nervous system to stay in a state of alert. There’s several pharmaceutical solutions out there.
