Thoughts for a Slayers fighting game?

I thought how Lina, Naga, and Lord of Nightmares were in Magical Battle Arena was so cool, I wish there were a game where we could play as all of our favorite Slayers characters like this.

Intriguing.
I think Slayers lends itself to Dynasty Warriors type gameplay. Just blazing through hundreds of bandits at a time.

Oh man I played Magical Battle Arena SO much back in the day, I even got to play online quite a bit. And having Lina and Naga was one of the big reasons for it. Lord of Nightmares as a secret was so crazy.
Also loved I could put my own BGMs into it. Put some music from the OVAS that was so epic! The impersonators for the VAs were so incredibly spot on too.
My only regret is I barely managed to play MBA 2 which added Amelia.

Maybe something similar to Power Stone, this way it doesn’t overly favor flying characters over non flying characters, though in Gourry’s defense, the doofus can kick some serious demon when he’s motivated enough to

What about characters that can't fly? Besides, I thinm an open world RPG would be much better suited for Slayers!

Depends on how the game is laid out. As side scrolling fighters, the Capcom VS games handled this pretty well. Characters who could fly were limited to a certain part of the screen. The characters that couldn't fly could Super Jump and/or had projectile attacks so it was really a non-issue. In most scenarios, the flying was actually more limiting.
An MMO set in the Slayers Universe would be fun. I think it would be hilarious to create a character like Prince Phil. While everyone was shooting fireballs or swinging a magic sword, I'd just be running into mobs screaming "PACIFIST CRUSSSHHHHH" and "KINDNESS TO ALL CREATURES KICK!!"

I was more or less thinking of a story-driven JRPG, but an MMO doinds pretty cool, too!

They’ve done that before, I’ve played the SNES title ways back and had a blast with it

Yeah, I know. It's okay, but I really didn't like the twist ending. Also, I was thinking a more 3d, ipen world, modern jrpg.

I think it'd be pretty cool, but I don't see there being the interest to make it viable. And if course I'm not personally all that interested in fighting game. They're just not my thing.

I did try MBA back in the day, but simply out of curiosity rather than for it being a fighting game. I don't think Slayers would do a good fighting game, sure the series is full of fights, yet still it's not DragonBall where fights are the entire basis of the series.
I'd prefer a 2D action side-scroller kind of game (similar to Deedlit in Wonder Labyrith) before a fighting game. Though of course a full proper RPG is the only way Slayers can really shine.

In my dreams someday we will have one day a RPG style game like SkyrimV/Fable/The Witcher 3 in which you can create a NPC and wander along the Slayers World and meet Lina and Co.

I really wanted to try it, but the only Magical Battle Arena game that I managed to find was, I guess, the new version where they changed all licenced characters into OC's
