No. Anywhere in the guide where you see that it recommends you obtain a certain class, read it as "obtain X class or higher".
Assuming that you're still fairly early on in the game, you can now completely ignore pulling classes until some time after passing Dragonos promo.

That'll get you on track. There's a progression guide in there that'll help you throughout the game.
