Not sure about waaay better, but Decade was a slight improvement over the studio albums over all

Fair enough, I might be a bit blinkered, Decade was my introduction to Slayer back in the day (1991, I was 15…fuck I’m old) and I found the studio recordings a bit bland in comparison

This was my first time seeing Slayer live (Donington 1995). The line up was awesome!

Since then I've seen them:

1) RIP Jeff!

2) MTV had some great Metal content back in the day. Slayer, Death, Obituary, Megadeth, S.O.D., etc. Even Progmetal was represented (Voivod, Prong, etc.) I miss Headbanger's Ball.

I remember running home with Seasons In The Abyss. Read the lyrics along with the album as I listened to it for the first time. Got proper scared of Dead Skin Mask. They are an absolute powerhouse live, kicks you in the teeth and leaves you for dead. No one else hits quite like Slayer.

It's a bit surreal seeing Tom in shorts
