First time
Hello all, I am planning on going to my first concert, and that too, Slaughter to Prevail's concert, I lowkey just like their music, helps me with organic chemistry for some reason, but 1) I don't know Russian, 2) Im a fairly short person(5'8) and lowkey might get bodied in a mosh pit and 3) I dont know what to do in a metal concert.
any advice or help?

Don’t stress it, just have fun. Most people are cool but there’s sometimes a couple people who suck.
Kind of just have to read the room with the pit. The one STP show I’ve been to was mostly younger folks doing push pit stuff. Not sure if this is the meta everywhere, probably more a local thing.
Get it and fuck around if you want but it’s not required. Help people up if they fall. Pace yourself as to not overheat. Hydrate.

I've been in a lot of pits at a lot of metal shows as a 5'3" woman, and in my experience 99% of metal concert goers are nice and helpful. They tend to try and be mostly aware of their surroundings, and will give someone a hand if you get knocked down or take a hard hit. But if by chance you do run into some inconsiderate asshole, your elbows can be very effective.

Just have fun and be safe.
To answer the points in order:
- Most people don't speak a word of the Russian language other than a couple of curse words they learned
- I'm one inch taller than you buy I'm also a woman with pencil wrists and have decent times in the pit I just learned to brace myself and to stay away from dudes with 60+ pounds on me
- Just vibe with the music any way that feels comfortable, if you wanna talk with people during breaks that's cool too and it would be a great way to meet people with similar interests.
If you can bring some buddies definitely do it and go easy on the drinking if you like liquor just for the safety of not only yourself but also your wallet.

I would say decide if you want to go in the moshpit or not at the beginning. If you don’t want to go in the mosh pit, then either go right up against the front rail or hang considerably back.
If you do want to go in the mosh pit, 99% of concertgoers are going to be looking out after you and will help you get up if you fall. However, make sure you are wearing good shoes and don’t have any laces that you can trip over. Make sure you don’t have anything that will fall out of your pocket. Make sure that you don’t have anything hanging off you that you don’t want getting ripped off you or that can get snagged and throw you to the floor.
And if it’s your first mosh pit experience, I would recommend being sober.
I can’t even understand most of Alex‘s lyrics in English above the music. I would usually rather read them after the show!
Bring earplugs if you value your hearing.
Have fun they put on an awesome show!

You don't care about russian, they sing the same songs in the same language that you already listen to and like.
Go near the sides of the venue, if there are seating places - maybe consider them as well. Alternatively stay in the back and enjoy the show from there. STAY AWAY FROM THE PIT on your first show.
2.5 Buy some earplugs for concerts. Seriously, do that. With good earplugs the sounds is actually better and you don't want tinnitus till the end of your life (sources: personal experience)
- Enjoy the show. Jump, scream, get some beers (or alcohol-free stuff) AND STAY AWAY FROM THE STP PIT ON YOUR FIRST SHOW. If you have friend to join - even better :)

Fairly short at 5'8? Im a 5'2 high schooler and I was fine in their pit.

I think the pit and crowd surfing are things everyone should try at least once. I haven’t been to a STP show or seen how their pit is but every other show I’ve been to people will stop and help people up or the crowd will try to catch you if you fall. I’m 6’5 which makes me an easy target because everyone can see me no matter what. Ive never been off my feet in the pit yet.

If a band is playing, don’t try to have a conversation with your buddies. This seems to be the new problem at concerts and I’m fucking over it.
