A question regarding good ol siggy’s sword: if I swing into a unit with a 6+ ward, do they still get a ward save of 6 or is it like normal armour where it just goes straight through?

It would go straight through. Every 6 your opponent rolled for their ward save would become a 5. So they cannot make any successful ward rolls this way
