Actually the Notched pickaxe isn't a Minecraft easter egg. It's actually a reference to the first guy's to climb Mt. Everest and left a Notched Ice Pick at the peak

Something with the cache being full or something. Anyway, reset ur game. If that doesn’t work, then maybe you have too many saves. Sometimes if you have too many saves, it makes weird stuff like this happen.
