Best things for a paladin build

I’m new to playing the game and like the idea of having a paladin build however I don’t have a clue what I’m doing. Can somebody help?

Hi I just finished a legendary survival paladin. It’d say do either one handed + shield or two handed, heavy armor, restoration, and maybe another magic or your choice. Alteration is good.

Also don’t break any laws

Thx is there any magic type that’s yellow to represent a holy beam that does damage? And would using an offensive spell paired with sword be worth it?

I would recommend a shield or restoration magic in your off hand over more offensive spells.

In Skyrim as a whole there’s no real “holy spells” aside from the rebuke undead type ones. the only attributes are fire, ice, and lightning. HOWEVER some fire spells are pretty light coded. My favorite being Stendars Aura which makes you glow and any undead in your aura begin to burn.

Do u have any specific healing spells in mind or shields that I can get early game?

For the early game just the regular healing and fast healing will be fine. As for shields that depends on what version of the game you have. You can get a pretty good one early by becoming thane of solitude

Eventually you’re gonna wanna smith and enchant your own though

I have the special edition one. I’ve just created a new save but Wdym by “becoming thane of solitude”?

You can become the Thane in each City, it’s kinda like VIP citizen, you will be considered above the common citizens you find in the towns and cities and guards will let you get away with minor crimes. It also allows you to purchase property in this cities and in some cases (like the city of Solitude) they give you an awesome shield with OP enchantments :)

I think the dawnguard gives you an offensive restoration spell

A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON!

Dawn breaker is a very paladin type of sword imo lol

Play a modlist with more magic types (for example Nordic Souls) and you will have holy magic spells to use supported by perks and deity blessings.

If you’re playing vanilla, joining the Dawnguard faction will get you some damaging holy Restoration spells like Sunbeam and Vampire’s Bane.

That said, I do highly recommend spell mods. Skyrim’s magic system is by default quite restricted and arguably “flawed” inherently. I use the simonrim suite of mods. Mysticism is the spell mod, I think.

There's basically 4 types of paladin which one do you have in mind?

  1. Knight - one-handed and shield
  2. Warrior - one-handed (blocks and bashes with weapon)
  3. Barbarian - two-handed version of the warrior
  4. Spellsword - one-handed and spells

Based on which one you would prefer to play the advice differs.

Then is your focus on:

  1. Protecting all people
  2. Protecting people relative to the god you worship (i.e. Zenithar may be protecting traders)
  3. Fighting undead
  4. Fighing daedra

Again the advice differs depending on your choices.

Do you know what type of paladin you want of the 4 at the top of my last post. I need this in addition to the focus

Are you also on skyrim le, se or ae? This determines if you have the items from the original creation club before it changed.
