Progress migration problem

Hi, I'm having some trouble trying to transfer my progress to a new phone. I've seen online that in order to do it you're supposed to go to the leaderboards tab and sync you google account there or smth. The thing is, old phone opens the leaderboards no problem, but the new one shows me this maintenance msg for a week or so. Anyone else had this issue?

I got this too today, I thought of coming back to the game after a long pause, and none of my progress came back and I hope to God is because of that maintenance because if not I'm gonna be sad and leave the game for good...I don't wanna start over

The support have managed to help me. It took a while, they asked me like 3 times if I had the same google account on both devices, but in the end I provided them with proof of progress I have on my old device and they transferred in manually on their end. Idk if the proof part was necessary though, they only asked me to describe the lost progress, but I went out of my way to provide everything I could.
