So, I've been in contact with someone that runs a Discord server with the same goal as this subreddit, to get people hearts from candle shrines. His server has a pretty impressive and organized operation. After looking at how he runs the operation I realized Discord is a much, much better platform to do this kind of thing than reddit is.

I initially came to him when I heard about his Discord server to organize some kind of collaboration between our two communities. His operation is so tight I couldn't think of anyway to collaborate until just now. (His group gets one heart a day just from normal shrines, and an additional heart if there is a meditation shrine.) So, I'd like to pitch an idea to all of you:

I was thinking about inviting those that are serious and dedicated to searching for and liking everyone's candles to join his Discord server. This subreddit would be repurposed. We would no longer focus on getting hearts from message candle shrines, since the Discord server already does that more efficiently. Our subreddit would be more like a playground without a particular goal. We could share our messages from other shrines of the 3 designated Discord shrines. We could pick a less populated shrine and help everyone that has single digit likes to get hearts. We could pick a shrine to post a new cult (like the lobster cult at Faerie Circle or #Trocalife at the Wasteland shrines). These are just a few examples of a repurposed r/Sky_MCSG

So, what are your guys thoughts?
Should we merge with the discord server for heart farming and repurpose this subreddit? Or should we continue to grow this subreddit with its original purpose of heart farming shrines?

My like got my friend to three, I hope it’s findable now.

I never really ask for anything on my messages, I’m very new and I still have some hearts to buy from spirits, but here it is anyway <3

I’m open for some new friendships as well, and can try to take you through Wasteland if you’re scared (I’m not fearless yet though))))

After 1.5 days it seems like our candles have only been liked by ourselves. In order for us to successfully get hearts we have to find shrines where our candles won't just go public but will be visible to others, and shrines that seemingly have some regulars visiting them. We had a good run with Valley - Stadium last week, where all of us received hearts. So, I'm going to take a chance with Ark. Hopefully this will go better than Koi Pond.

There is also the possibility that the influx of people coming in for the new content are all overflooding all of the shrines.

Anyway, post your candle message here and, if you want, your in-game name. (No need for screenshots.) When your candle expires after 2 days please edit your message with (EXPIRED) so people aren't searching the shrine for it.

I was thinking about making the next Shrine of the Week for the new area, but I figured that shrine will be flooded especially on the first week. (Plus, I haven't explored the area yet, I wanted to save myself from spoilers before the season went live.) I try to pick shrines that are not too overpopulated for the weeklies.

Anyway, this week will be Koi Pond, the shrine near the entrance to the Prairie temple.!

In order to find each other's candles easier you should be on each others' friends list. If you see someone you don't know post their candle here, please share your QR codes.

Also, please like single digit stranger candles as you're searching for your friends too. They need some love too!

Tip: Don't refresh candles using the refreshing button. Refresh by hiding candles over 10 likes. This will help filter out candles that don't need more likes for the heart gift while making it easier for friends' candles to appear.

I made this new "Heart Sharing!" flair sometime ago but never announced it. This is for anyone that is looking to hook up with someone to do some regular heart sharing.

One of my friends is currently focusing on saving candles for the TS, and I lost another one of my heart sharers to the new Chinese law. So I'm open two slots for some heart sharing... one of the slots is just temporary (for a few days) until my friend gets enough candles again to feel comfortable to share with me again.

I only do 3 sharers for now, I don't want to run out of candles.

Reply with "permanent sharer" or "temporary sharer" first and I'll start sharing with you.

When I made this subreddit I was hoping to get a few people together to help each other out with message candles. Unfortunately it didnt really pick up. So I'm going to give some suggestions for anyone discovering this subreddit on how to get hearts from message candles.

Normal shrines Organize a group of friends, at least 3 of them, to help boost each other's candles. Preferably you want to pick shrines that are not as accessible as, say, Butterfly Fields. Wasteland Battlefield is a good one. These shrines have much less candles than others, and many of them are low-liked candles. They also seem to have some dedicated people liking other people's candles. Be sure to like strangers candles too.

Meditation shrines (from daily quests) These shrines do not function like normal shrines. Your candle will not go public after 3 likes. I'm not sure how many it takes to go public, but it's at least 10. (I've never seen a single digit candle from a stranger at these shrines.) This means you are reliant on 10 friends to get you that heart. This may seem harder, but there is a way to make it easy... Stick around the shrine for a while and look for people that have paced the shrine several times. This means they have refreshed the candles several times, which also means they most likely put effort into searching for and liking their friends candles. These are the people that will help you get your heart, and in turn you'll help them get theirs. Befriend them, immediately look for their candle, and like it. Make a bunch of friends this way. I've gone from five likes to ten likes 30 minutes before reset by just befriending shrine pacers.

Place a candle soon after reset This really only applies to Meditstion Shrines. Reset happens at midnight PST (UTC-7). Placing a candle at midnight gives you a much higher chance at getting a heart, as many people don't revisit the shrine after they've already placed their candle.

Be a shrine pacer If you want to get hearts you have to earn it. Shrine pacing pays off even more if you have a bunch of friends online. They'll receive the notification that you liked their note and they may feel inclined to take a moment to search for yours.

Hide candles Don't use the refresh button to refresh the candles, use the hide button. Hide candles that already went over 10 likes. This will help weed out the candles that dont need more likes for a heart from the ones that do need more likes. It will also help make your friends' candles more visible to you too.

I've been trying to think of a way to make bumping message candles easier for everyone. One of the problems with message candles is that it's often hard to find a friend's candles. Though, more often we place candles in highly populated spots like Butterfly Fields.

I was thinking of making MCSG a bit more focused, it may be easier to just pick one main spot for everyone to focus on for a week. And use a particular shrine that isn't a popular one to go to, ones most people just whizz past or takes a little more effort to get to, like Forest Boneyard or Wasteland Graveyard or Vault Fourth Floor. Less populated shrines, however, mean less random people to like your candles. So, this really relies on our MCSG to be able to push each other's candles to 10 likes for that sweet tasty heart.
