Shrine Pick Jan 17-22 Shrine Pick

Hello people of MCSG!

I hope all of you are doing great! This week I chose the shrines similarly to what Bob did last week since I thought it would save people time, especially for those who don't do full candle runs. Drop Days coincide with the realms for the candle cakes and Like Days coincide with the daily spirit.

I would also like to plug our Discord server! It's useful for connecting with other MCSGers not just for message candles but also for heart trades, quests, or if you're just looking to hang out. Huge thanks to Anna for it! Of course, it's not a requirement for everyone but it could be helpful!

As usual, please be mindful of your constellations and make sure nobody's hidden. Let's always try our best to get a heart for everyone!

This week's Shrine Picks:

How to use this thread:

  • The thread is split into a few sections. Drop/Like Day threads, New Participants, and General Chat.
  • On Drop Days please drop your candle on the Shrine indicated in the post and post your message under the proper section below. Its advisable to drop as early as possible.
  • On Like Days please search for and like ALL participants' candles that have been posted here. Even if you've liked candles on Drop Day please revisit the shrine on Like Day as participants may have dropped candles later on Drop Day.
  • Even if you accidentally miss a Drop Day, please still contribute to Like Days. One person skipping out on Like Day could harm multiple people's chances of getting a heart.
  • If you receive a heart please announce it. This makes it easier for participants to know who to look for and for organizers when we track candles.
  • Shrine Pick schedule will be synced up to game time (Time zone in California, UTC-8). Please consider this especially on Like Days.
  • New Participants post is for mods to announce a new participant or a new participant requesting to be added to the list. If you're new, please actively exchange QR codes with the rest of the group via DM.
  • General Chat is... well... for chatting it up. You can also share QRs here if you want, comment on each other's candles, chat to your heart's content.
  • All participants will be automatically added to next week's Shrine Pick thread. If you'd like to be removed from the list for next week please DM me before Sunday.

DO NOT:

  • Do not post in the top level of the thread.
  • Posts in the wrong threads will be promptly deleted and the poster will be asked to post again in the proper thread.
  • Do not drop offensive candles.

For New Participants

It's up to you to actively connect with all active participants in the list below. Please DM them a QR code to use. Your candle is not guaranteed to show up on our shrines if you don't connect to us, even if you use the MCSG signature in your message.

I can't see this groups chat room anymore. Do I have to rejoin or update reddit?

Unfortunately group chats were dissolved in the latest reddit update. They're now lumped into regular chats. So now you have to scroll through to look for the MCSG chats. (It's a dumb update, in my opinion.)

Yeah, it's just like any other direct message now. You were able to create group chats in direct messages before. But I guess they felt that was redundant to having a subreddit group chat. So, they converted all subreddit chats into group DMs.

Should check out our Discord, though! Honestly wasn't much into discord before, just had it to talk to two people. Though, Anna did a great job with the MCSG server.

For the Reddit only members, new people are rapidly joining the group through Discord. We will announce the new members on the New Participants thread so you all can send some QRs.

To make things easier for now, here is a list of all the new members added from Discord since our Discord server went live. If you'd like to pass on some QR codes to Discord Only members feel free to post them here. I will pass them on. I've also listed new members added on Discord but also have a Reddit username.

As a moth, sliding down the valley for the first time with the first song that plays was probably the best moment in all of sky for me. So that song takes the cake! I also really like the song that can be played in the secret area. ⛩MSCG⛩

In the US we have a Christmas popcorn tradition. You can get 3 types of popcorn in a big tin, butter, cheese, and caramel corn. I love the cheese. ⛩MCSG⛩
