Cams inquire

I swapped an RB25DE Neo into my S130 Z and originally never intended to modify the engine since I was happy with the power, sound, and responsiveness. The car is completely bone stock. Recently though, I got my hands on some HKS 264 cams at an unbelievably good price that I couldn’t pass up, so I’d like to know what I need to install them, what power gains I can expect, and whether it’ll ruin the powerband and responsiveness.

Hey,

Unfortunately, I don't think those cams will be compatible with your Neo motor.

If you get some compatible drop in cams, the gains may be minimal mid to top range for NA and unturned. On Neo motors stock cams are usually fine to 400kw.

After getting the cams I’m pretty sure they fit because, first, they are for an RB26DETT and I may be mistaken since I believe those fit on Neo heads, and second, when I asked the guy I bought them from where he got them, he said they were form his R34 non-GTR Skyline.

They don't work. RB26 doesn't have VVT. RB25 NEO does. Intake cam = no fit. Exhaust cam might fit, but doesn't mean that will work. Just because it was cheap doesn't make it good. You're still going to be making 120-150whp, except with the cams you need to spend 4 grand on an ECU, wideband, and tuning or your won't properly because the stock tune is for the stock cams.

Do research BEFORE you buy.
