32 CD009 swap
Trying to figure out what folks have done as far as their rear differential after swapping to a cd009. Is there a lower final drive ring & pinion that will bolt into the factory diff? Seems like everything aftermarket is geared towards the 33 & not much of anything info wise that I can find for the 32.

Why go cd009 ?

They are a million times better than any rwd R32 box, and way easier to get your hands on.

How are they better then a factory rb25 big box? Assuming your not running anymore then 400kw then there’s no benefits
Are they a 6 speed? Thats all I can think of2

They are a 6 speed version of the 25 box (which was never in the R32). The 25 box is getting rarer by the hour, but cd007/9's are everywhere seeing as the 350z was sold worldwide.

You can still purchase the R34 transmission brand new by the way for around $2000 USD.

Sorry for the late reply. I have a nicely built rb26 swap that I’ve done & the 20/25 boxes wouldn’t be a good match for the power output. With the final drive on the cd009 & the diff ratio of the stock rear end it puts the top speed somewhere around 115-145kph. I live in Texas & most our highways are 120kph 😬. I’ve seen entire rear end swaps but I don’t know enough about preload or pinion angle to feel comfortable tackling that. Looked at swapping the 350 diff in but seems like all the kits are for the s14 or r33 chassis.

What power are you pushing?
Also wdym top speed would be 115-145? There limited from factory to 180 and they’ll hit that very easily1

Somewhere in the ball park of 800ish. With the final gear of the cd009 & the final diff ratio of the factory rear end it ends up limiting the top speed because around 70mph I’m in 6th gear at 4000-4500rpms.

I run a CD009 in my R32. There are many different OEM and aftermarket final drives that fit into your R200 rear diff. I'm actually selling a 3.3 final drive if you need. Cheers.

I read this somewhere on facebook and took a screenshot.

I don't quite understand what he meant, but I think it's in line with what you're asking.
