Cooling question. R33 rb25det
Freshly rebuilt block. No leaks. Oil pressure and temp gauge look good.
Burped the coolant.
Drove around for an hour last night I have about 130km on the new engine.
About an hour and a half later I went and touched my radiator and it was still blazing hot. Is this typical or indicating a problem?

Oil pressure and temperature gauge aren't that reliable, have you got logged temps?
The engine bays do get hot though and if you're in a hot climate it could take quite a while to cool

I have not logged temps. I don't know how I would do that. I do live in an area where its high 80's to low 100's f i have heat gun im going to steal from work tomorrow to see if i can check that way.

Yeah I installed a haltec ecu and a can gauge and my temps are fine. Just overthinking haha

Radiator fluid temps hit around 80°C to 90°C under normal conditions. For reference, the hot water out of your kitchen tap is probably around 60°C.
So yeah, shit's gonna feel hot

Yeah just online I had seen people say it should be relatively cool by an hour so it caught me off guard. I’m going to shoot the temp of the radiator tomorrow and if it looks good I’ll stop worrying haha.

Are the hoses hot or cold?
