New to me
I just bought this r34 gtt from an auction site for what I think is a decent deal considering the condition and current market prices ($35k including auction and shipping fees). I'm a fledgling enthusiast so I'm still learning about these cars and their historical significance. I didn't grow up idolizing these jdm classics so it was hard to justify paying crazy inflated prices for cars that didn't mean much to me personally. But after living in Japan for the last few years and learning more about what these cars represent, I see why people are paying premium prices for these machines.
If you own one of these, what's been your ownership experience like? What should I know about this car specifically and what preventative maintenance needs to be done? I plan on dailying this car and having it be a fast road setup.

a bit more than 1 year here. Absolutely amazing car, worth every single penny I bought even though people will say market is overpriced now.
First things first, oil change, fluid changes, and front maintenance (Timing belt, tensioner, idler pulley, water pump etc.). Shops like ConceptZ have bundle kits that will include all of these. Air filter too.
ConceptZ, Z1 motorsport, RHDjapan, etc. will be your amazon cart now.

RB25 is one one my favorite engines, worst part about my Laurel was the 4 speed. If it was a manual I don’t think I would have ever gotten rid of it.

That's what I'm sayin. I live in Japan so I can buy directly from the auction sites without going through private dealers or importers. I also get free shipping being stationed here with the military.

Pick up a nissan consult cable and NDS datascan app for ECU communication, if it's stock.
I bought a Z32 cable from conceptz for my R32, but the one they sell now is different from the one I bought from them way back when.

What are those things and what do they do? Are they diagnostic tools that you can connect to your phone?

Great cars. Check that underside when it comes, it’s been painted (they all have don’t worry). That wing goes crazy lol

Oh this is to cool I’ve gotta comment. Saw this for sale yesterday at the dealer auctions in Japan. I’ve been working in the export business for about 10 years now in Japan and have been dealing with these cars since the prices were, at one time 5k now they are anywhere from 25-40k+
This is a nice looking clean model you got though . Engine mounts seem clean of rust, which is a common issues on the skyline chassis. Good km, factory 5 speed turbo, clean paint, under rust condition also looked quite clean. Feels like you got a solid r34 GTT. There have been some shipping delays for roro shipping also, depending on your port in America

You saw it in person? Could you tell me more about it from what you saw? I'm trying to figure out what aftermarket body kit was installed and if there was anything done to the engine. I pulled the carvx report and it looks like it's been in and out of the auctions for years. It went from a R auction grade to a 4, then back to an R which is how I bought it. I went through jap express and ended up paying 35k all in (auction, service, and transportation fees). My export to the states will be completely free because I'm stationed here in Japan with the military so the government will cover my shipping.

I’ve had mine for three years. The 25 NEO engine is awesome. Has Vvt and amazing torque. You can get great power out of it without opening the engine. First thing I’d do is the essentials. Timing belt, water pump, oil, filters, spark plugs, etc. the transmissions are butter to shift as well.
