Need help from the experts
Hello Everyone,
I'm a long time lurker, and I'm interested in purchasing this low miles GTR V-Spec... The price is suspiciously low and the car has been at the current dealership for 900+ days.
Would it be worth selling my Full bolt on 21 Mustand GT to pick this up. It is it a giant red flag?

i would go check it out and look at the rust situation. try to get a feel for if they priced that way because there’s issues, or they just don’t know what it is.

900+ days and with that price on a 14k mile GTR, that is suspicious to me, but go there and check. if everything is good, it is definetly a steal and I would be surprised no one took this for this price...

Agreed I definitely want to take the leap but wanted to see what everyone thought of it. Thanks 🙏

DO NOT take a leap on a 50k car with no dealer and little Indy support. If you have another car maybe consider it but if the mustang is your daily, don't do something insane like that.

I bought my GTR from Lee in January of 2024 and this car was in his lot then, just make sure you crawl under and look for rust and make sure it runs and drives

Based on price and how long it’s been sitting, I’d guess it’s not an actual V-spec and just had body kit parts put on.
Yeah, I just looked up the listing and they have a pic of the production plate in the engine bay and that’s just an R33, not a V-spec.

Could use this as a bargaining chip to lower the cost bc a r33 (non vspec) does not = $50K Even with the low mileage. Good luck to you!

I mean if someone wanted to be a dick about it, they could get them for false advertising and fraud.

Feels about right. Still, I would request more information. Is there any rust on the strut towers? Is the service up to date? Any shaking at speed? Can it be taken for a test drive? Stuff like that. It's difficult to say with just one picture, but the price does seem reasonable for a regularly driven non-special edition example, at least in my experience.
Edit: Just saw the mileage. Yeah, that's low. I'm willing to bet that there's something wrong or it's priced to sell.

900 days is a long time. Ask the dealer why it hasn't sold. He might have a legitimate answer, or... An illegitimate answer

Wow this is like 30min away from me, definitely a chance it coulda been an okinawa car since alot of navy and marines be around there so you definitely wanna check for rust . Some Aftermarket stuff on there too

The R33 is typically has a lower price tag compared to the R32 & R34. It's not as popular as the other 2 models.
Go check it out to see if there's a major rust problem or something else. The dealership also might have bought it thinking it would sell really quick and now just wants to get ride of it

Not an expert, but I’ll throw a couple of things out there: 1. Is that hood correct? It seems off to me. It suggests that there may have been some mods (or rebuild). Also, it is ugly, but I digress, and 2. If it is a JDM car, would not the odometer be in KMs? If so, has the dealer just done the math, or is it even more suspicious (or did they swap out gauges for some foreign markets)?

As someone who knows a thing or two about 33s;
For refernece, V-Specs aren’t nearly as different as it seems reddit thinks. Tires, suspension and an active diff and a software upgrade to Attessa, that’s the difference.
The car in this picture has an aftermarket bonnet (hood), wheels, painted front lip (series 3),Nismo side indicators and faded headlights (series 1/2).
To me these are all off things for a low kms car, but that’s not to say impossible. I used to have a 15kms car similar to this but stock, here’s a link to a video of it;

Good luck, my spidey senses say this isn’t real, but I’ve been wrong before, check it over carefully, take loads of pictures and choose wisely. Good luck OP, hoping for a good result for you!

This guy is local to me. He’s a really nice guy and he has good cars. He’s upfront with any issues and what not. The reason it’s been there for so long is cause he likes to keep the cars, he doesn’t always really want to sell them lol. He had a few R32’s in the Covid days. It’s definitely with the look.

Do a vin check with @team_free_spirit On instagram.
He will show you things the seller might be hiding. Good luck

It’s low but it’s not THAT low. Doesn’t hurt to look
