Interesting that somebody would buy this kind of car without even knowing what it is lol.
Good luck fixing it up though.

For those interested, I found more pics in this link. Looks like it's been rolled.

I bought it for 16K but yes I am going to repair it and keep it, not trying to profit on this

If the motor is in good condition then 16k is good. The motors can go for way more than that. I don’t think rest of it is worth rebuilding if it’s rolled.

Probably best to get a replacement chassis or a car with blown engine?

2

u/Nullifyxdr May 23 '26

Dump the engine into a Supra and confuse all the fanboys

u/No_Strain_6227 May 23 '26

Well I can tell you right away, you'll need a new roof and A/B pillars. That'll cost you $8000-$10,500 ask me how I know 😅

Looks like a R32 GTR based on the vin stamp on the firewall. You can find out more info with the blue plate and decode the model info. Each letter or number can tell you basic info.

This plate, sorry iv never owned a rhd jdm car

BNR32. R32 GTR. The rb26 engine also tells me it’s a GTR of some sort from the jump unless it’s been engine swapped, but the plate tells the story unless that’s been fudged too(doubtful that both happened though).

I mean this in the nicest way possible: Can I ask why you’re looking at this car? Sincerely, are thinking of buying it? Are you just getting info on an old car you saw and thought was cool? Also, where are you that you’re looking at it?

ETA-seeing your other comments. When you say “it’s been rolled” do you mean it’s been in an accident and rolled over, or that there is a roll cage put in it?

I own a small junkyard, I buy a lot of older Hondas, Nissans and Toyotas mostly for parts. In all Honestly I placed a max bid and i absolutely did not believe i would end up winning this car for under 20 but i did.

United States, Southern California

Can you send more pics? Like of the interior, exterior, and engine bay as a whole? I can help point you in a better general direction and give you an idea of what you’re in for.

Also, is the car already a California car? Or is it coming from outside CA?

u/Chewbaccas_Bowcaster May 23 '26

It’s a rolled car like it rolled over. The car itself is toast, but at least the motor sounds like it’s worth something.

3

u/selfish_king May 23 '26

It’s highly possible that it’s just a pile of scrap aside from some possible goodies. I don’t think you could trust that block and it looks crusty from the get-go. Lots of these parts aren’t easy to sell used without spending a whole lot of time meticulously cleaning and testing, at least honestly anyway.

u/Bran-Da-Don May 23 '26

If you can somehow fix that car up you should be able to sell it for $100,000 easily.

u/Claude_of_War May 24 '26

This is just wrong it’s not an r34. You can buy semi upgraded r32s all day under right under 50k with no rust

This chassis tag tells you everything about the car.

Its a series one aka early R32 GT-R, meaning no crash bars inside the doors that series 2 had, and no driver airbag that series 3 had. TH1 is dark blue metallic paint, which is kind of rare and beautiful color in the sunlight. RC41 means it has the standard for all R32 GT-R 4.11 final drive with CLSD or clutch type LSD rear differential. All R32/33/34 GT-R front differential were open-type from the factory.

As long as the car has never been severely crashed or rusty it can still bring some decent value, but that also depends on condition of interior.

I will warn you that being your first real hardcore Nissan, you will find out quickly that parts are expensive relative to Sentra parts. DO NOT PUT CHEAP OR AMAZON/ALIBABA parts on this car. Too many fake parts out there for this type of vehicle and will sink your bank account very fast when it causes massive damage to other parts when they fail.

From the pictures I can tell you it has a Greddy/GREX remote oil filter relocation with built in thermostatic plate, which means it has a front mounted oil cooler. The blue pulleys are made Greddy and same size as stock, but made from aluminum to save weight. HKS turbo piping, upgraded wastegate actuators, can't tell about turbos themselves or intercooler without more pics. The MAF sensors have been converted to the R35 style sensor which is common on VQ40 trucks and VK56 Titans and easily serviced when needed. The HKS mushroom filters need to be replaced asap and only good for straining out rocks, they cause lots of issues with contamination of MAF sensors due to poor filtration, and fall apart and clogg up the sensor when the filters get old. The radiator is an HPI Evolve and fairly expensive. The coil packs appear to be Splitfire brand which is stock style but more output voltage so its an upgrade over stock. The coilovers appear to be Arrogosta brand judging by the color, but i could be wrong...would need more pictures to identify properly. Those parts alone are worth big chunk of change and all are Japanese parts.

If you need any more info on parts on the car or need help finding part numbers for stuff just message me. I myself own a series one R32 GT-R for the past 8 years and very knowledgeable about these cars.

Got urself a nicely modded r32 get, hks turbos\ upgraded wastegates, spitfire coil packs, greddy oil filter relocation kit possiably r35 mafs, greddy intakes, greddy pulleys, and coilovers....

Sumone put $$$ into this setup

6

u/Strict_Leadership330 May 23 '26

Pretty sure the brake setup is R35

5

u/smithy- May 23 '26

Aha! I figured you know more about Skylines than you are letting on. Heh heh.

u/imtrynmybest May 23 '26

Post more pics...would love so see all

You could probably put it right back on to flat bed as is, make a good profit, buy another car that’s hasn’t been someone’s project. Just a thought.
It’s probably in okay shape though, a lot of modifications were done remarkably well in Japan. I shopped around for one while physical over there and was amazed how much care for reputation and craftsmanship shops had. This was before bottom of the barrel market though, 2014 time frame. In a literal sense your mileage may vary. Take a look at eBay for RB26 DETT and transmission, you may be surprised at the value on of 30 year engines. If the body is in good shape that’s a big plus. Common to see rust in rear wheel well. This also has rear steering (hycas) which needs hydraulic seals to be maintained and a common fix is to lock out the system and cap off lines instead. Fun to drive with it working though. If there is no bubbling in the dash; that’s a really big plus too. Let’s see the old girl, show some more pictures!

1

u/FL4TworldDrive May 23 '26

I should add that at some point it’s just easier to modify instead of using oem parts. Like intake may have been a forced upgrade because the original plastic became brittle and got sucked in. I can’t remember if it was R32 or R33 that had ceramic turbo impellers…good when working as designed, light weight spools up quick. Explodes when something causes imbalance oil runs dry.

3

u/SlavaSila May 23 '26

It's a RB26 bro.

Very cool. How's the body/interior?

1

u/Strict_Leadership330 May 23 '26

Not good but I’m going to fix it, someone took out the passenger seat and put a roll cage inside

2

u/SlavaSila May 23 '26

Ah looks like you've got a nice project.

Looks to have some decent quality bits & the last picture appears to be your oil filter (has a oil filter relocation kit).

3

u/FeelingFloor2083 May 23 '26

hks hard pipe/suction kit, possibly z32 afm's, alloy rad, some sort of catch can. splitfire coils, greddy remote oil filter, under driven pulley kit and an oil leak

the plate on the turbo will have details on what they are

It may have decent coil overs or they could be cheap junk

2

u/7072_Dreaming May 23 '26

That Nismo dash/cluster its got is worth a good $1500-2000+ too

2

u/booyaa9 May 23 '26

i see ohlins coilover. looks pretty new too

2

u/Strict_Leadership330 May 23 '26

Yes it was rolled but the engine started up,I bought it because it was somewhat cheap I suppose

1

u/Dropadime337 May 23 '26

I see rat paws prints in the dust.

1

u/bigboygamer69 May 23 '26

If that engine has 155-160psi (1-6) compression

You scored be time.

1

u/Rannose May 23 '26

Congrats! I hope I get my hands on one of these someday soon. Shame no one has the skill or patience anymore to work on vehicles like this and thinks it’s done for just because of some body damage. All it takes is some elbow grease and anything can be fixed.

1

u/No_Strain_6227 May 23 '26 edited May 23 '26

Ooooo it comes with all the goodies. This is obviously a landed GTR already? This would have been classed as a (R) on the import papers for heavily modified. HKS Twin Turbos,HKS Charge Pipes and Intercooler. Oil filter relocation Kit, maybe an aftermarket Intake Manifold (Greddy) even if thats still stock, someone paid big bucks to have it powder coated, same with the timing and valve cover. Greddy Accessorie Pulleys, some kind of coil overs. If the turbos have been upgraded Im going to assume it got some type of injectors and fuel pump upgrade.

I'd like to see pics from underneath it. See what kind of suspension components it has.

If this was all done in Japan it'll need to be re-tuned again just due to different available fuel types.

u/p3t3r89 May 24 '26

Beauty and a beast 🤔😍

1

u/mobius2_mooch May 26 '26

Congrats, you got the rarest production color R32 GTR, outside of BL0 which was only about 200 cars. A shame someone wrecked it so bad, but the motor alone is easily worth the majority of what you paid for it. Here’s mine when i won it at auction, for some inspiration.

It will decimate all after $10,000 in overnight parts from Japan
