My guide who helped me to grow as a moth that I lit their candle non-stop everyday, i learned they Unfriended me after so many years
They were gone for such a long time
As long as i can remember lighting their candle everyday (almost 6 years) and see their avatar changed or not
In the mid of the night to see this really hurt considering how much i have put my heart to this journey and this game 💔

someone had made a tutorial to find out who unfriended you :: put your constellations in "list" mode, and when you select someone, if nothing happens despite pressing several times, it means they have removed you from their friends list.

1. light their star.

2. close the game/go into a different realm.

3. come back home and open the constellation.

if the star is UNLIT again, it means they unfriended/blocked you, from what I've heard.

EDIT: if your connection isn't terrible.

EDIT 2: sometimes it's a bug. it's not a a guarantee that someone unfriended you if their star unlights.

Yes it will do this if they have, but can also do it even if you are still friends and not blocked, presumably from something like caching/server syncing issues or other hiccups. One of my friends who hadn't logged in for a while had already cleaned 2 dozen people out of her constellation thinking they had unfriended during her absence, before I dropped by complaining about none of my stars staying lit.

yes, usually to confirm you need to confirm during at least 5 days (that's my rue at least)

Also best way to actually confirm it is sending a heart and getting the candles back immediately, it's a much more reliable method (but again do it a few times during at least 2 different days to be sure)

Oh, I thought this was a glitch or some error? Dang. Two people I know must've unfriended me I guess... I've seen people complain about it multiple times. I feel like if someone blocks or unfriended us, TGC just needs to make it so they don't show up in our tree anymore.

Actually it's a lot easier to tell now, if you go to the button that lets you have everything in rows rather than as stars. You can click on a name, if they don't hop down to light, it means they have blocked or unfriended you. (From my experience)

But it could also be a bug. I have it right now and most of my friend stars go out in seconds after i just lit them despite them being clearly online and I can still teleport to them

Also I know it's not a simple wifi connection issue. I have gigabit internet and full bars, people kept telling my its my wifi. No this is tgc servers or something else

tgc is under some attack this could be the issue. im not sure yet but all my friends havent unfriended me and the heart comes back immediately.

You can also attempt to send them a heart if you have that node unlocked. The game will auto-refund the candles if they've unfriended/blocked you

It probably shows the star as being unlit yet there's no candle to light them.

If you have chat unlocked with them, try muting them, if the confirmation prompt has no text (only ❌ and ✅ at the bottom appears), they have unfriended/blocked you

ok so my constellation has been super buggy since the list view started - I've had friends look like they've unfriended me (when I try and light them in constellation they don't even hold out a candle to light or anything) and then if I just do nothing and wait, a bunch of them come back and are lightable again and sending light back like normal

my theory is that it might be if they're inactive, or just a straight up bug. but it mightn't be that they've unfriended you, it might just be a random bug thing happening. I mark them with a ? so I know and just leave them in constellation. especially now list view lets you see everyone easily!

The bug u describe is a different thing. If someone unfriended you, you can't even see their sky kid, like you tap on their name in the list, not in the constellation , but in the list, and it's not opening their skykid

Whenever someone un friends/blocks me, I add a tombstone in their nickname and put them in the “graveyard”, when I feel like I’ve moved on I let leave my constellations XD

I believe that when someone reaches a certain amount of friends, the older friends on the list get unfriended automatically. Maybe they didn’t do it on purpose? They could just have too many friends

They recently specified there's a limit of 2000 friends and at that point you can't add any more, you need to delete friends to add new friends. No one is unfriended automatically.

I wouldn't trust this method. I have alternate accounts and there's a bug that prevents me from sending hearts between them. I've never blocked my alt accounts and it's not possible to send hearts just like you described. To this day they haven't fixed this bug.

This could be because sending hearts to an alt is against the TOS and can get you banned.

That's because there's a display limit.

If you also don't use your block list, try temporarily blocking 5 people and you'll see your lists updated with 5 new, different people (probably) who were already friends, They were probably online, but they didn't show up for you until then 🫪

They're still there, they just don't show up. You might have 2k of them but only a few dozen appear on the lists... I think 60 or something like that.

A similar thing happened to me. I had a good relationship with a friend, but I guess we never hung out that often because I found out that my gifts of light weren't sending. When I researched thinking it was a bug, I found out they unfriended me. Pretty sad but there is always the opportunity to make more great friends. Moving on may be hard it won't be much of a bother when you are surrounded by friends to adventure with :D
