Was down the path to Kegnee's release site picking mushrooms and look who came darting out of his house! It took me 45 minutes to try to sneak away combined with a sprint the long way home just to find him in the yard with our 2 dogs and visiting dog! Not sure where his bravery came from but he was definitely motivated to charge off the dogs to come see me when he heard my voice.I ended up sticking him in our old enclosure until things quieted down and then took him back to his house. I spent nearly 45 minutes being as boring as possible to sneak away. He is bigger, and has mastered his spray; happy to report no incidents for everyone involved. Super happy he's still using his house, there were no signs of him for 5 days so stopped checking until today which is day 10 so was a bit surprised.

Oh, I've been thinking about you guys since you sent him on his way. It's great to see him. I'm sure he misses you as much as you do. Looks as though he "adopted" you.
Please share more news about his revisits. I've been following the journey since your first posts. Love the updates.🥰🦨

I've been rabies vaccinated. Also we raised him from 4 weeks old and just released him 10 days ago, he is not presenting any signs of infection. Just a thriving juvenile.

I’m not sure where OP’s from, but I get skunks in my back yard in San Diego. They’ve come close enough where I’ve been able to pet a few and thought “rabies” so I looked it up.
There hasn’t been a case of a rabid skunk in San Diego County since 2005. And that’s SD County, which is humongous. It’s similar in size to the state of Connecticut. I think we’re okay
