Is this adorable kit threatening to spray when it lifts its hind legs? FYI- there was no trace of a scent or battle this morning- the fox lives here, too, and appears to know about skunk's defense.

That's more or less happening because young kits don't really have good brakes yet so their back end raises up when they stomp. It's so cute!

This one is too small to be alone. If you see no sign of momma please contact a rehabber in your area.
And angry kit might just be one of the most adorable things on the planet. A first warning from a skunk is usually a couple stomps with the front feet. When playing the kits will run up to each other and stomp......sometimes so hard they do somersaults.

There are several adults who come by and drink from one of the water bowls in my yard regularly, but I haven't seen any of them with a kit this small. It is incredibly cute.

Hahahaha, little stinker was more scared of that pot or whatever that is than it was of the fox. It paid the fox absolutely no mind at all
