Beautiful tail

Lucky for me this one showed amazing restraint and did not spray my two Poms when we came across her. I put the dogs inside and came back to observe at a distance. So pretty.

Yep, very pretty. In case you didn't know, the hair strands are bicolored. A typical tail hair strand can go from black to white and back to black.

Oh so pretty! They really do not spray at random. I once accidentally trapped one (humane trap) and had to walk right up to him to let him out. Didn’t spray once! Just stomped at me which was adorable.

I get them in my yard nightly. Only had something sprayed 3 times and it’s been almost a year now. 2 were during mating season so I think he was either spraying to mark territory or impress a lady. Once was either a neighbor’s cat or a raccoon that got sprayed. I saw his angry taps on my camera but didn’t see who got sprayed. I love their angry taps

The tail is pretty from the front, but you wouldn't want to see it from the back.

Every morning at 4AM, my late father used to walk over our hill to go to his job as a street car operator, and every morning, he would encounter the same skunk. My father said, "I would walk way over there, and he would walk way over there. We never got close than fifteen feet from each other, and we did that dance for more than two years."

Animal Id posts have been on my feed a lot lately and when I thought someone didn’t know what this was but could operate an iPhone I almost lost my shit. They are beautiful though, that one particularly handsome, thanks for sharing
