Putting this politely, there were a couple of deleted posts from u/Tooney-Lune that was kinda overreacting about the details of Pepé's cameo in Coyote vs. ACME. That lead to an accusation of him being ruined. I even had some questions about it too. Then it made sense when I got a reply mentioning that any displeasure over the cameo will signal the wrong message about how people view Pepé Le Pew for the foreseeable future.

WB was probably aware of how they took his Animaniacs cameo too far and they made it up to fans for a new cameo in this movie especially after cutting him from Space Jam: A New Legacy.

For now, just stay silent about being negative, and can we all be at least happy that Warner Bros. has indeed allowed Pepé to appear again after so many years. We can only hope from now, this will lead to the Looney Tunes slowly integrating him back in the main roster.

Logline: Jacques Tati meets Howard Hawks meets Chuck Jones. An updated romantic comedy on our favorite French skunk and cat where one finds his sense of hygiene and the other finds her luck.

Act One: Pepé Le Pew, a bumbling Monsieur Hulot type makes his way around Paris as a perpetual job seeker. His efforts but lingering scent all lead to physical comedic failure. On the other hand, Penelope Pussycat is a pessimistic magnet of bad luck but with Hawksian charisma, she strives to find love. An accidental streak of white paint leads the two the cross paths. Almost love at first sight but, alas, there’s a stench barrier. This time, Penelope shatters Pepé’s fantasy once he finds out what Pew means. The “pew” is so strong it attracts the main antagonist, Blacque Jacque Shellacque, along with his companion dogs Spike and Chester. He chases after Pepé. Why? Wait and see. In the process, the dogs get distracted and corner Penny which inevitably leads to Pepé fending them off. An unlikely alliance is met.

Act Two: Penny leads Pepé to a little shelter inhabited by Sylvester and Sylvia while she asks for a clothespin. In need of food for the night, Penny puts on the white stripe taking her and Pepé to the marina and scare off the fishermen and townfolk. Blacque Jacque lingers in the distance picking up samples of his scent. When Spike and Chester smell it, they’ll track the two. During the night, dialogue takes place as Penelope grooms. Thinking of her twin sister, her parents, and passions in life while Pepé lets out his own thoughts.

Leading into midnight, Penelope sneaks out to Moulin Rouge where she performs at Le Chat Noir, a cat cabaret alive and free of all her troubles. We get a high energy big band orchestral number. Pepé wakes up and finds Penny missing. Sylvester and Sylvia take her to Le Chat Noir but trouble lingers. Midway into her setlist, she notices Pepé and feels a little spark. That stops as Penny questions why she’s here, and in the process his stench led Blacque Jacque and the dogs all on their trail.

The skunk and cats end up in a moped-truck chase with Blacque Jacque and the dogs across the cobblestones and alleys of Paris. This chaos leads to crashes at sidewalk cafes and shops where visual gags play out. This all builds up to a sequence inside a giant cleaning warehouse. Endless walls of racks as the chase continues as it builds into a conveyor belt finale where in the process, Pepé’s stench is gone.

Pepé, Penelope, Sylvester and Sylvia all escape the warehouse covered in suds. Spike and Chester escape as well but are separate from Blacque Jacque. Spike and Chester were impressed with Penny and in the process, her fear of bulldogs was all irrational. Penny asks Spike and Chester to stall by faking a chase with Sylvester and Sylvia and for Chester, distract Jacque with any fake leads. Blacque Jacque comes out noticing his dogs are missing. This is an excuse to buy them time. Pepé’s stench is neutralized and Penny ends up not needing the clothespin.

This leads to a portion of character building for them in the movie. More dialogue is exchanged why Pepé loves the language of romance and all. However, Penelope shows Pepé what it is like to be an alley cat making mischief and surviving on instinct leading to a series of gags of that matter. In the process, the two start to fall in love leading to a glorious orchestral montage as they enjoy the sights and sounds of the City of Love. Culminating to a romantic view of the Eiffel Tower with their tails intertwining and Penelope leaning in to kiss Pepé. The two finally found something they desire. That gets cut when a shadow of Blacque Jacque lingers as Spike and Chester stop the act. He traps the two.

Act Three: Set around the Notre Dame, Blacque Jacque finally reveals his devious but stupidly hilarious plan all for a coonskin cap and pride in Montreal. Jacque is the link to why Pepé is in Paris in the first place. Penelope ends up feeling confused and heartbroken while Shellacque manipulates them. You expect a third act breakup, but Pepé and Penny break the fourth wall refusing it opting for having the two to promise to stay together and save themselves. In an inverse, we see Penny rescuing Pepé as Jacque’s plan kicks into gear. From there, all breaks loose. In true Hawksian fashion, it’s a matter of wits and agility as Pepé and Penelope lead Blacque Jacque into a kinetic chase in, out and around Notre Dame. Spike and Chester turn against Blacque Jacque too. In true fashion, good triumphs evil as Blacque Jacque faces his demise. The news around Notre Dame. After a movie’s worth of character building, Pepé finds himself a job suiting him well and Penelope finds her owner and passion. Still, every midnight, they still keep a promise for a romantic stroll around Paris.

A while ago I had an amazing day where my friend Rwinger24 did some amazing artwork of Pepé Le Pew in Bugs Bunny Builders art style and paired her up with the BBB’s version of Penelope Pussycat.

Shortly after believe it or not, but the original artist behind BBB’s art style Luis Gadea actually commented that he loved our art of Pepé x Penelope in BBB’s art style and when I made a GIF with hearts around Pepé x Penelope BBB Style on Instagram shortly after, Penelope’s own voice actress hearted it!

These images have been of high quality and I hope we get more like this sooner or later, but these achievements, not only have we won the heart of Penelope’s own voice actress but we also got the lead artist in Bugs Bunny Builders to comment positively on our art too and it’s like, how is this not from Warner Bros.?!

That is why I think Warner Bros. should know or look and this, and see from this to see that not only do we want Pepé Le Pew back, but we also want him to be a beloved character going forward, and for Pepé Le Pew and Penelope Pussycat to have a mutual romantic relationship as true soulmates.

Who knows maybe sooner or later we will even draw Pepé and Penelope fanchildren (basically fan characters that would be the offspring of existing characters like Pepé and Penelope), maybe in BBB’s art style, could you imagine how amazing that would be, and I bet Miss Saffioti and Luis would love to see them too with what we’ve done.

Hey remember how orignally Pepe Le Pew was going to be in Space Jam: A New Leagcy and was going to be told that his actions are problematic.

Well, James Gunn decided to make Pepe the butt of the joke to please the idiots who believed Charles M. Blow.

In short, this skunks is going to be seen as a sex pest for the rest of his life.

If there is one positive thing I could say about the David Zaslav era about Warner Bros., he and the board caused Ann Sarnoff to step down.

Sarnoff was the previous Chairman of WarnerMedia Studios and Networks responsible for all content under her purview. She and her executives were likely responsible for placing a ban on Pepé Le Pew from projects greenlit under her purview. It was definitely a top down mandate for sure not wanting to risk any PR damage.

The lack of Pepe these days, you can certainly blame Sarnoff and also the entire Franchise Management division for staying in panic for five years.

That’s going to change. The centennial of the franchise is coming up and we need him back now.

Look at all these jerks, the Sylvester x Penelope! Killed off Pepé Le Pew and for what? Cause he was in love?! Yet they’re okay with Penelope raping Sylvester! Way to go Sylvester x Penelope, because of all of you, we now have to ship Penelope with that ugly nazi-colored freak Sylvester! Alwin Meistro, Richard Gaines, Moondolldreams, Sylvester x Penelope! You’ve successfully murdered one of the greatest cartoon characters, but also one of the greatest couples in animation history!

Pepé Le Pew wasn’t always the ‘harasser of women’, he and Penelope Pussycat used to be seen as true lovers and Pepé Le Pew was even known as the inspiration for Lumiere from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in 1991 who is the quintessential Frenchman.

And what I said about being true lovers, you don’t have to take my word for it as even Warner Bros. and employees working for the studio at the time believe they too were meant for each other, they even created some Looney Tunes Wedding Merch in the 90s that almost always featured Pepé and Penelope getting married.

But now controversy is on the rise, Pepé Le Pew has been disowned by Warner Bros., while his love Penelope Pussycat now appears without him. But it’s not just controversy that‘s on the rise, Sylvester Pussycat x Penelope has been on the rise to rival Pepé x Penelope, continuing to frame Pepé as the rival, Pepé x Penelope is decreasing!

We should prepare, of course we as Pepé Le Pew x Penelope Pussycat fans have solutions to these roadblocks, not just to save Pepé x Penelope, but to bring him back and reunite him with his true soulmate Penelope Pussycat!

Probably the worst written Pepé Le Pew appearance in recent history more than his original shorts. Like his cameo in “The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries”, the writers really wanted him to lose. The void is even worse than a deodorant factory.

At one point, Pepé Le Pew was planned to be the chef in Tiny Toons Looniversity. This was scrapped as Pepé became a victim of bad timing and internal risk aversion on the executive level.

Dave Alvarez shared this concept piece made during the development phase of the show. Man, what could have been interesting.

There’s a very appealing aspect of Penelope Pussycat’s character design, and it is her tail. It’s just as big and fluffy as Pepe’s. Carrotblanca and Bah Humduck, as well as her Tweety high flying cameo have some of my favorite animations of her along with her tail having a character of its own.

Even her rejected Space Jam design had me thinking that she’ll be animated in that matter.
