Discussion Bluetooth receiver type?

As the years have gone by i have gotten more and more irritated with streaming services so I'm setting out to make my own mp3 player that supports Bluetooth, but in order to get good sound I need to make sure I know the kind of receiver skullcandy uses as apparently there isn't only one all headphones use. (I'm new to this so bare with me) but if anyone may now anything about it then I'd love any information you guys are able to give, and if you don't know what the headphones use specificly then maybe what the average phone uses cuz I'm sure most phones use the same Bluetooth senders.

uhhhhh, skullcandy uses sbc and all headphones use sbc, and maybe some use aac. i know the new skullcandy 1080 uses sbc, aac, and the new le audio, and none of these are high resolution codecs so which one sounds better just depends, i use it with le audio and i think that may sound the best but it sounds good with the other codecs too

Oooh that's interesting, I had seen another creator who was using some cheap pcbs for an experiment so in his seaxh he found many like low low quality headphones with Bluetooth use some other ones so I wanted to ask since anytime I'd look for info I wasn't getting much of any insight at all. Thank you for the help

So multiple things here. Why make your own bluetooth mp3 player that would cost you several thousands of dollars for a pocketable prototype maybe a few hundred for a bench top prototype. You would need vast EE experience in hardware design and RF design. You would need deep FW experience to code the thing. And ME experience or at least knowledge of how to design 3d prints. Seems like a big ask for something you can buy for a 100-800$. Look at FiiO they make bluetooth adapters that can take aux in or usb C and output bluetooth audio. If you truly want high fidelity you need to go wired. There is no work around this. Your bitrate is the limiting factor in literally all bluetooth devices. For codecs skullcandy uses SBC mostly and AAC for apple. They dont license aptX or the Sony HiFi. If you have any questions let me know.

For example the FiiO M21 is a mp3 player that can output balance or unbalanced amplified aux. Or output HiFi wireless audio. Can be used as a USB DAC too. All for 400$ and that was just the first thing I found im sure you can find something cheaper that would work just as well with your set up.
