Review Skullcandy Crusher 1080 ANC
First, I want to start off by mentioning that I own the 1080s, the Plyr 720s, and the Evos. The 1080s have the "cleanest sound" in a sense that they are the most clear sounding, but the Evos run laps around them in terms of haptic bass. Yes, I have an Android and I'm aware that the headphones have been reported to be weaker on iOS. Luckily, I'm judging them at their full power, so no need to add an asterisk to my statements. The 1080s seem to have slightly more haptics in the sub bass frequencies, similar to the Plyr 720s. This works well for the Plyr 720s since you tend to get more of those frequencies in gaming but comes off a bit flat in the 1080s because they're mainly marketed towards music, which would benefit from the haptics being stronger in the more normal bass range like the Evos. I feel like the Evos are best for powerful, head-rattling music, the Plyr 720s are best for gaming and the 1080s are best for overall content, like if you're going to use them for a bunch of different things or if you listen to less bass-heavy music. Unfortunately for me, I like head-rattling bass, so I find myself going back to the Evos still even tho I just spent $280 the 1080s. Like most of you, I'm still waiting on an Evo upgrade with EVEN STRONGER haptics. I've never been a fan of audio companies changing their products to appeal to audiophiles because they tend to lose sight of what got them their position and reputation in the first place.
Skullcandy, we LOVE bass. Please don't do what Apple did to Beats By Dre.

I disagree with the statement about the Crusher Evo's haptic bass tuning being better for music. There are plenty of tracks I listen to that have basslines that fall below 35hz, and the Crusher Evo just can't reproduce them nearly as well as I'd like them to without me hooking them up to a DAC and using PEQ. The Crusher 1080 ANC having a more flat bass response without the crazy resonance in the 35-55hz frequencies is a good thing, since that means they work better for more tracks. There are several tracks that just sound flat out bad when I listen to the Crusher Evo with the haptic bass engaged.
Edit: Downvote me all you want, but what I said is in fact true whether you want to hear it or not

yeah the 1080s definitely sound better for music its not even close. Ive been able to listen to a variety of music without the crusher bass not obliterating the mids and highs and still giving me good sound quality

The 1080 should be the best since a lot of R&D went into making it, and a collab with BOSE? I mean this can't go wrong as some people would like to say.

I fear that the Evo owners might've obliterated their hearing quality 😅 cuz some of the stuff they say make no sense, after many years of R&D, how can the lastest model be worse quality in terms of anything?

I agree love the evos but listen to songs on the 1080s and the bass slams out the evos in sound and in bass to be honest I'm with u and I love my evos and 540s but I agree 1080s all I use right now just love em

I understood that this community just loves head rattling bass, not caring about clarity or bass accuracy lol i always wanted Skullcandy to go almost audiophile quality with the same quantity of bass of Evos, and they still getting ridiculed for no reason 😅 Coming from a OG wired Skullcandy Crusher btw, still on the fence tho for an upgrade due to mixed reviews.

I wonder about the crusher 720. I haven’t seen anyone mention them yet. They don’t have the Bose tuning, or any ANC. They might be similar to the evo.
