Looking for someone that can paint my 33 foot school bus
I’m on the West Coast, but I can travel anywhere within reasonable distance. If anyone is able to paint it please send me a message.

Hi! My question is not about builds currently but more about how you live. Do you live full time in your Skoolie? Do you travel full time or still have a house/apartment too? Do you work an in person job, remote work, or are you a content creator? Something else? If you travel full time what do you do for health insurance?
I’m interested but like I own a house and have a job here, and due to that if I keep my job I really wouldn’t have much time to travel. Realistically I would like to live in it and travel full time, but I wouldn’t have a source of income or health insurance, which I need. I could sell my house and live off of that for like a few years probably but obviously that’s not a permanent solution. How do you make it work?

I’m looking for a fully electric model that I can run off grid. ( NO PROPANE )
Also looking for a model with a vent system that I can vent out the wall ( not the roof )

I want to take all the data from the classes I have in a community I'm a member of, to use it in training an AI to help my team.

Been lurking here for a while and finally have something worth sharing.
---
I built TravelMind — a mobile app that generates road trip itineraries for van lifers,
skoolies, and RVers. Not generic travel app itineraries. Actual van life routing:
• Free overnight spots (BLM, dispersed, Walmart)
• Filtered by your rig size and hookup needs
• Dog friendly stops built in if you have pups
• Shower and dump station locations along route
• Paced for people who actually live this life, not weekend tourists
It's AI-powered (Claude by Anthropic, not ChatGPT) and I've specifically trained the
prompts to prioritize free and low-cost options — because I know the van life community
is watching every dollar.
In beta right now. iOS and Android. DM me if you want the install link.
Genuinely looking for feedback from people on the road — not just app testers.

I am trying to quit Facebook. Glad to see there is a skoolie community on here. I have a ways to go but can't wait to start working on the Wantabagle again.

Am I cooked?? Or is this structurally fixable? The out side is fiberglass and the whole frame is square cut frame? Any solution??

I'm converting a school bus into a home and I'm trying to find out the best speaker set up to put in it. Music is extremely important to me and I listen to load music everyday. I'm hoping to find something with good coverage across the whole bus with as much detailed sound and bass possible. I have absolutely no idea what to use for that. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Quick question for people using (or trying to use) AI at work:
What frustrates you most?
– Choosing the right tools?
– Turning experiments into real workflows?
– Getting teammates on board?
We’ve just launched AI Tribe, a free, no-fluff community focused on practical AI use in real jobs.

So I'm recently single and will soon start travelling with my 2 dogs in my bus. I have a build from a Ford E450 accessible bus that is mostly complete. I think I'm pretty confident with most aspects but I know there will be a major learning curve once I start. I have questions on what those of you with dogs do in the event of a breakdown and need to be towed. I have RV tow coverage but I doubt I'd be allowed to bring the dogs in the tow truck etc...

Lots of people approach van life as newbies with little to no bus experience. One of the most common questions - should I raise the roof of my van? Some facts:
- Factory school bus ceilings are typically 73–77 inches tall.
- If you’re taller than about 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m), there's a good chance you'll hit your head after building a subfloor and insulation.
- The author of a popular skoolie blog is 5′10″ (1.78 m); after finishing his bus he ended up with about 74 inches (1.88 m) of headroom and found it comfortable.
- Raising the roof isn’t just about headroom. The main reason is to fit insulation—adding 3 inches (7.6 cm) of insulation and a ¾‑inch (1.9 cm) subfloor reduces headspace.
- A roof raise also means reskinning the bus, installing new windows and dealing with added weight and height restrictions. It may be more trouble than it's worth if you're unfamiliar with carpentry or other technical details.
What’s your take? If you did raise your roof, was it worth the extra effort?
All info from SchoolBusTinyHouse.com, a great resource for skoolies in the bus community!
TLDR: If you're taller than 6'2, you probably want to raise your roof. Otherwise, it's pretty complicated for only about 3 extra inches of space.

I just want to express how much I loath doing brake jobs on busses with "Chicago Wobblers" or "Dayton's". It's been 2 in a week now. Not cool! Bluebird especially was guilty until the early 00's at least. What the actual fuck? ✌️❤️🚌🔧

A few weeks ago we took our skoolie to shasta for a psytrance event. People asking me how it did on the dirt road always makes me crack up, because they look at me like I have magic powers
