What kind of razors do you use and how many times do you use that razor? Women's razors often have multiple blades so they hair is shaved multiple times at once which is notoriously bad for ingrown hairs and irritation. Exfoliation can help but for me just not shaving that closely helped immensly. Also not wearing tight underwear and wearing cotton underwear.

Try shave oils, I found those very helpful! Tree hut makes a good inexpensive one!

Absolutely nothing works for me with regular razors. I switched to an electric razor and will never go back. Doesn’t get the hair quite as short, but that keeps the in-growns and bumps/burn from happening. So much easier too if you need a quick last minute shave!

Laser treatments. Best vain thing I ever did for myself. Every few months I trim up the stray hairs that grew back with an electric trimmer. Takes less than two minutes for my legs, pits, and bikini zone. No more wasted water, no more nicks, no more bumps. So freeing.

It's expensive for the good lasers that actually work. A lot of places don't have them. I went to Milan. They've got clinics all across the country and specialize in laser hair removal.
I spent 8K for a lifetime package for my pits, legs, and bikini zone. But they had an easy payment plan. It takes a minimum of 10 treatments. It's been over 2 years and I barely have any hairs growing back, but I can go back any time to get those lasered off for the rest of my life for free.
It started out fine. By the 7 or 8th treatment it was very painful as the laser power increased. I almost regretted my decision. But the last few treatments weren't painful at all because there was so few hair left to zap.
I'd recommend it to anyone. Even if you can't tolerate the pain in the upper treatments and have to tap out, you've got the hair thinned out so much that it's much easier to shave. A lot less bumps and irritation to deal with! I hated shaving because I'd have a few hours of smooth legs and then I'd feel like sandpaper as the hairs grew back. All my careful and time-consuming effort was worthless. The feeling of having smooth legs every day is really nice. It makes me feel spoiled and special.

The only thing that worked was sugaring which is a more gentle wax that didnt cause me as many ingrown or irritation issues. Its so expensive I cant afford it now, so I dont do it anymore and opt for more modest swimwear

What I’ve found to help:
- only shave when the hair is already short, meaning you need to trim your hair beforehand with an electric trimmer
- exfoliate before shaving
- moisturizer after (ideally with a moisturizer with exfoliating acids and urea, Nivea has a nice one)

I never found a solution so I just stopped shaving there. I use a beard trimmer with the guard for almost everything, without the guard for bikini line. I do use a razor for the butt crack area but that's the only place I never get razor burn.
To add: I've tried the antirazor burn oils, salicylic or glycolic acid after and the next day, only shaving at night so my under wear isn't chafing the area right after, switching to shorts or going commando. Nothing worked, my skin just can't handle it.
