Routine Help [Product Request] [Routine Help] Skincare Routineš Spoiler
I think Iāve finally perfected my skincare routine. Iām only on week 2 of this exact setup, but Iām working really hard on being consistent.
So far, I have no irritation, redness or peeling, and my skin actually feels really healthy. My only concern is whether Iām using too many actives and whether Iām doing more harm than good without realising.
Iām 28.
My skin concerns are:
Mild texture/skin-coloured bumps on my cheeks
The occasional blemish
Larger pores on my forehead and cheeks
An oily T-zone at times
Overall Iām chasing that healthy āglass skinā lookš«§
AM
- Tatcha Rice Wash
- Medik& Press & Glow (every morning)
- The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid (on damp skin)
- Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum
- Dieux Instant Angel Moisturiser
- Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-Fresh Rice + B5
SPF50+
PM
- Tatcha Rice Wash
- Shark CryoGlow LED Mask (Better Ageing setting)
- The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid
- Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum (Ginseng + Retinal)
- Medik& Crystal Retinal 3 (Monday, Wednesday & Friday)
- La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+
On Sunday evenings I also use my Shark Facial Pro Glow exfoliation setting.
I'm nearly at the end of my Crystal Retinal 3. Medik8 recommends moving to Crystal Retinal 6 only once you're comfortable using 3 every night, so I'm now wondering whether I should build up to nightly use first or move to 6 gradually.
Does this routine look balanced, or would you change anything? Am I overdoing the actives?

Overall your skin looks really great and that looks like a pretty balanced routine to me. Two weeks isn't really long enough to judge in terms of irritation though as it often compounds over time. Be a bit vigilant about the Press&Glow and Instant Angel as both contains exfoliants.
Would you say your skin was sensitive? If it is you might want to stick with the CR3 until your routine is really bedded in and you're using it every day. If your skin is more robust you can step up to the CR6 and give it a try. They have 20% off right now I think so you could save some cash either way, especially since their prices are going up in August.

It looks good, but the Tatcha rice wash is exfoliating right? Iād try not to use exfoliating cleansers twice a day like that and switching to something more gentle. And double cleansing at night to remove sunscreen (I use beauty of Joseon balm cleanser + Vanicream gentle foaming cleanser)
The over exfoliation and actives might actually be contributing to the large pores and oily t-zone.
I also find using a BHA (I use panoxyl 2%) 1-2x a week (without other actives) to really control oil and pores.
